Software Development Engineer, Last Mile PlanningThe Routing and Planning (RaP) organization, within the Last Mile Technology (LMT) organization, plays a pivotal role in Amazon's mission to deliver packages to billions of customers worldwide.Our goal is to create the most efficient, reliable, and high-quality route plans for our drivers while ensuring safe, low-touch, and high-throughput solutions for operations.We're challenged to constantly improve and innovate on our routing and planning software to support Amazon's promise of fast and reliable deliveries.The technology that are developed by our teams include a wide breadth of solutions from Machine Learning (ML) and Operations Research-based routing and planning algorithms, in-house maps and navigation platform, IoT and hardware innovations, doorstep delivery experience, and the consumer grade native mobile apps that brings all these experiences together.Key job responsibilitiesAs an SDE-2, you will develop a deep understanding of our business, work closely with development teams and own the architecture and end-to-end delivery of software components.We are looking for someone who loves solving hard problems in a collaborative environment, has high standards for quality and maintainability, and is looking to grow into a space where they can have high impact on customers.You will work with other engineers on our team and in adjacent teams, as well as with research scientists, senior engineers, and product managers, to develop software to automatically create the best package plans, which are used all over the globe, multiple times, every day.Basic Qualifications3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience programming with at least one software programming languagePreferred Qualifications3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, including support for the interview or onboarding process, please visit for more information.If the country/region you're applying in isn't listed, please contact your Recruiting Partner.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.#J-*****-Ljbffr
