Senior Project Engineer – Italy (EMEA Tech Services)Based in Bologna | Frequent travel within ItalyAbout Rubicon WaterRubicon Water is an Australian company dedicated to addressing one of the world's most pressing challenges: water scarcity.We work with governments, water authorities, irrigation districts, and growers worldwide to increase water availability and agricultural productivity through improved water-use efficiency.By combining advanced hydraulics, automation, and precision water management technologies, Rubicon empowers its clients with unparalleled control, reliability, and efficiency in the management of large-scale irrigation systems.As part of our long-term growth in Europe, Italy is a strategic market, and we are strengthening our local technical capabilities.The RoleWe are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to act as the primary technical reference for Italy within Rubicon's EMEA Tech Services team.This is a senior, highly technical role focused on:Field-based technical prospectingHydraulic and technical designEngineering development during proposal and pre-project phasesThe position is specifically focused on open-channel (free-surface) irrigation systems, including gravity-fed canals, regulators, and hydraulic control structures.The role bridges sales, engineering, and projects, ensuring that all solutions are technically robust, well-sized, compliant with Italian standards, and fully aligned with real field and civil works conditions before execution.Key Responsibilities (Summary)Lead hydraulic studies, modelling, and gate sizing for open-channel irrigation networks.Support sales and tender activities with strong technical definition and Solution Reports.Review and validate civil works designs and technical documentation.Act as a senior technical authority supporting project readiness and technical validation.Serve as Rubicon's main technical interlocutor with clients, consultants, and authorities in Italy.Contribute to building a technical centre of excellence in Bologna.Profile SoughtEngineering degree (Bachelor required; Master's degree in Hydraulic / Civil / Water Resources Engineering highly valued).Strong background in open-channel irrigation systems and gravity-fed canal networks.Proven ability to interpret hydraulic models and validate them against field conditions.Solid exposure to site conditions, civil works, and contractor interfaces.Fluency in Italian and English.Availability to travel regularly within Italy and occasionally internationally.Why Join RubiconPurpose-driven work with real impact on water sustainability.Senior technical role with high autonomy and influence.Combination of field engineering, advanced hydraulics, and digital water solutions.Opportunity to shape Rubicon's long-term technical presence in Italy within a global Australian company.#J-*****-Ljbffr
