Job ID: ******* | Amazon Data Services, Inc.AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep customers continuously connected.Our team tackles complex supply-chain problems and collaborates across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while maximizing capacity at the lowest possible cost.As a Data Center Construction Manager, you will be part of a creative, diverse team tasked with building energy-efficient, cost-effective Amazon Data Centers.You will work alongside partner teams—Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning—to construct facilities that directly support our customers.You will interact daily with construction trades, serve as Amazon's owner's representative, and drive cost, schedule, and quality while managing vendors and contractors.We are all owners, leveraging opportunities from design review through construction execution to final hand-off.You will lead a multidisciplinary group, resolve challenges, and ensure our data centers meet rigorous safety, reliability, and performance criteria.Key Job ResponsibilitiesDirect interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and project closeout/punch-list phases.Conduct negotiations with contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.Create construction project scope and request for proposals.Perform financial analysis of construction projects.Manage construction projects for initiatives that increase the resiliency of our data centers.Review constructability of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.Maintain construction document control, including submittal review, RFI's, change orders, and invoicing.Oversee construction project quality control.Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management.Lead teams in troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis of equipment failures.Serve as a leader within the group and across internal and external teams that support the data center.Read and interpret construction specifications and drawings for all disciplines.Define data center system-level architecture, specify equipment requirements, create conceptual designs, and maintain project documentation.Apply knowledge of building codes and regulations—including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.Provide expertise in controls and commissioning of large-scale projects.Support power management and power monitoring systems.Utilize certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent engineering science, or 12 years of relevant construction experience in lieu of a degree.8+ years of construction management experience on large, complex MEP projects.6+ years of general contractor and vendor management experience (RFPs, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI/submittal tracking).Preferred QualificationsUnderstanding of data center system-level architecture and electrical engineering principles (switchgear, UPS, transformers, circuit breakers, breaker coordination studies, switchgear sequencing).Understanding of data center cooling system architecture and mechanical engineering principles; ability to read and interpret construction specifications and drawings for all disciplines.Ability to value-engineer and devise cost-reducing, time-saving solutions without compromising quality or reliability.Experience designing or constructing data centers, critical infrastructure, or large-scale MEP plants.Experience with systems, controls, commissioning, power management, and technical operations of data center critical infrastructure.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, please visit for more information.Posted: December 15, **** (Updated about 19 hours ago)#J-*****-Ljbffr
