Turbopump Mechanical Senior Engineer (Typhoon)Join to apply for the Turbopump Mechanical Senior Engineer (Typhoon) role at The Exploration CompanyHere at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refueled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.We are seeking a talented Turbopump Mechanical Senior Engineer to join our Propulsion Systems division.As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing turbopump systems for cryogenic rocket engines.Key responsibilitiesLead the turbopump mechanical design from architecture to component design, including the maturation needs of these componentsEnsure that detailed mechanical analysis is performed on the turbopump components and assembly, reviewed and meets the required standards for life and reliability targetsSupport design iterations to turbopump assemblies and/or components, including manufacturing improvements to reduce the cost and lead time of components with the Additive Manufacturing Senior EngineerDevelop validation/verification tools dedicated to the mechanical design and development of turbopumpsIterate turbopump mechanical designs using simulated and real-world test dataWhat we would love to see from youMinimum of a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical fieldOver 6 years of hands-on experience developing rotating machinery or components, from concept to working prototypesExperience performing turbopump analyses (structural, modal or rotordynamics)Knowledge of turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checksFamiliar with cryogenic fluidsProficient user of ANSYS or equivalentProficient CAD user (Siemens NX is an asset)Fluency in EnglishWhy you should join usWe're Agile – we make decisions fast whilst keeping our goals and systems in mindWe're Open and Collaborative – we are transparent about risks and obstacles, so that we can cooperate to overcome themWe have a lot of Fun – we refuel our energy knowing we are democratizing space.It's a wonderful and rare opportunity, are YOU up for the challenge?We'd love to hear from you if you wish to be a part of our journey.Please submit your CV now for immediate consideration and we will be in touch shortly.The Exploration Company is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.We do not discriminate based on race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability status.Relocation assistance is provided for those willing to relocate including visa sponsorship where applicable.#J-*****-Ljbffr
