NW Deployment Planner II, Global Network Delivery Job ID: ******* | Amazon Asia-Pacific Resources Private Limited (Singapore)AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.The Global Network Delivery organization is hiring a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our growing Planning team within AWS Data Center Delivery.The team responsibilities involve scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations.They will review project forecasts and assure physical infrastructure resources are available for their execution.The Network Deployment 'Planner' will work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to the local data center installation & deployment technicians to facilitate smooth capacity execution.The ideal candidate will possess a technology background that enables them to understand the complexities of the sophisticated network architecture of Amazon data centers.To be a qualified candidate you must be highly autonomous, detail oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and have experience in managing network deployment projects.They will be competent in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure and fiber solutions.This position will provide the individual with high levels of autonomous work with minimal supervision to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and to assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand.The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous, collaborative environment is essential for success.In addition, this role may require international travels of up to 30%.Key Job ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning & Design Managementa. Contribute in developing comprehensive 6-8 months network implementation roadmaps aligned with AWS DC expansion targetsb. Create and optimize network position layouts and rack placement strategies for data centre floor space utilizationc. Review and contribute to High-Level Design (HLD) documentationd. Coordinate with engineering teams to validate technical requirements and design specificationse. Develop capacity planning models to ensure infrastructure scalabilityf. Create standardized planning templates and methodologies for network implementationsProject & Resource Managementa. Lead end-to-end project planning for multiple concurrent network implementation initiativesb. Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and dependenciesc. Manage project scope, and quality parametersd. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategiese. Improvise and optimize planning by incorporating lessons learnt of latest deployed projects, iterativelyf. Coordinate across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project deliverablesg. Track and report weekly project progress and/or otherwise informed to key stakeholdersSupply Chain & Inventory Planninga. Develop project inventory forecasts and requirementsb.
