Aramco occupies a special position in the global energy industry.We are one of the world's largest producers of hydrocarbon energy and chemicals, with among the lowest Upstream carbon intensities of any major producer.With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco's value to society.Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations' spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom's vast hydrocarbon resources.This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.OverviewWe are seeking a Power Cable Specialist to join the Technical Services Division / High Voltage Equipment Unit (HVEU).The Technical Services Division is responsible for providing and managing highly technical and specialized engineering services to support the safe and reliable operation of Saudi Aramco's electrical transmission and distribution networks.Your primary role is to provide specialized technical support in regards to designs, standards, commissioning, maintenance, operation, investigation in order to ensure safe and reliable Power Supply.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:Review and validate underground cable designs, including, conductor sizing, installation methods, shield grounding, thermal performance, and ensure compliance with company standards, best practices, and applicable national standards for medium and high-voltage cables.Ensure that the Company\'s cable assets are fully compliant with relevant standards and regulations, including those for medium-voltage cables up to 36 kilovolts and high-voltage cables up to 230 kilovolts.Advise on cable routing, clearances, parallel and crossing spacing, and protection methods for cables crossing pipelines, roads, and hazardous areas, applying your knowledge of safety protocols and industry best practices.Recommend grounding and bonding strategies for cable shields and sheaths to minimize circulating currents and induced voltages, in line with company standards and industry guidelines.Participate in root cause analysis of cable failures, recommending corrective actions or design improvements to prevent future occurrences and enhance overall system performance.Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures related to assessing the condition of power cables.Provide consulting and technical guidance to internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders on power cable design, construction practices, and safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, supporting internal training or e-learning initiatives on underground cable systems.QualificationsAs the successful candidate, you will hold a Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.An advanced degree is a plus.Professional Engineering certifications, such as: chartership or PE, are preferred.You will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design, development, technical assurance, and assessment of the health of medium and high voltage (MV/HV) power cables using innovative technologies, including: applications from 5kV to 230kV.A background in the oil and gas, utility, or cable manufacturing industries is a plus.You will have knowledge in governing International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards for power cables and accessories, including different insulation, termination, and splicing technologies.You will be able to multi-task and manage changing priorities and seek opportunities to improve results and processes proactively, contributing to the goals, safety, and profitability of the company.Additionally,You also be able to assimilate and quickly apply newly acquired technical information.Work Location and Work ScheduleWork Location:Within Saudi Arabia – To be specified in Job offerWork Schedule:Full Time -
