OverviewSenior Building Surveyor—Bristol, BS1Permanent | Full-time | Hybrid workingAbout this opportunityWe are searching for a senior building surveyor to join our Bristol office as a key member of our regional service.Joining as a senior member of a technical team, and working as part of an established multi-disciplinary business in Bristol, you will play an important role in service delivery and business growth across the local region.This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and motivated chartered building surveyor to play a pivotal role in developing a team and service, working closely with our Bristol and Exeter Building Surveying leads.You will have support and guidance from our national building surveying lead as we embark on an exciting growth period for Building Surveying at Gleeds both regionally and nationally.Work within our Bristol Building Surveying team will include managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations and maintenance works.ResponsibilitiesSupporting business unit directors in delivering business objectivesPositively engaging with customers and developing, growing, and maintaining customer relationshipsDelivering high quality services and ensuring that building surveying deliverables meet customers requirementsManaging projects to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with business proceduresManaging building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations and maintenance works – from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover and post completion reviewsPreparing and managing planned maintenance programmesQuality monitoring of construction projectsPlanning service delivery in conjunction with the Director with overall responsibility for the projectCommunicating with and providing good sound professional advice to both clients and other project team membersEnsuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checksRemaining in the remit of your role and when additional responsibilities need to be carried out, conduct this in a fully informed manner with the approval of your line managerProducing and presenting to customersManaging services delivery for profitAdvising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insuranceIdentifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the Business Unit activitiesYou will have access toOpportunities to develop and grow your careerA comprehensive benefits provision including health cash planCompetitive car allowanceA contributory pension schemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeOur global travel scholarship programmeFlexible working arrangementsWho we're looking forExperience, Knowledge and Key SkillsSound Building Surveying experience post MRICS qualificationSound knowledge of construction methods and materialsGood knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategiesAbility to administer construction contracts as Contracts Administrator or Employer\'s AgentClear understanding of legislation impacting on building contractsClear and effective communication skills – both oral and writtenGood organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changesSound problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skillsAbility to absorb complex information and assess requirements readilySound ICT Skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to work as part of a teamQualificationsMRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)About usGleeds is a global property and construction consultancy with over 150 years of expertise, operating in 28 countries worldwide.From iconic landmarks to critical infrastructure, we drive innovation, sustainability and value, delivering transformative projects that shape communities and redefine the built environment.#J-*****-Ljbffr
