(NASDAQ: ADI) is a global semiconductor leader that bridges the physical and digital worlds to enable breakthroughs at the Intelligent Edge.ADI combines analog, digital, and software technologies into solutions that help drive advancements in digitized factories, mobility, and digital healthcare, combat climate change, and reliably connect humans and the world.With revenue of more than $9 billion in FY24 and approximately 24,000 people globally, ADI ensures today's innovators stay Ahead of What's PossibleTM.Learn more at and on LinkedIn and Twitter (X).Engineer, Test Engineering – Product DevelopmentSustainable AutomationThe Industrial and Healthcare Backend organization is seeking a motivated and creative Test Development Engineer to join our team in Milan.The team, as part of the Sustainable Automation (SAU) business unit, is at the forefront of the Intelligent Edge, developing innovative silicon and board level solutions that drive growth in our global industrial business.Our diverse portfolio of active projects includes Industrial Communications (e.g. IO-Link, Binary Sensors), Industrial digital I/O (High voltage, Mixed Signal), and Motor Drivers (Stepper, BLDC, FOC, and Gate Drivers) products which operate in harsh high-voltage/large-current industrial environments and end-user applications.The Test Development role provides an exciting opportunity to work in a technically challenging and highly rewarding environment.You will work hands-on with a broad range of analogue and digital electronics, and develop significant expertise at circuit, component, and system level.This role offers a wide variety of development opportunities and exposes you to multiple technologies and end applications.You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, developing cutting-edge silicon solutions to solve our customers' biggest problems and helping ADI to win at the Intelligent Edge.In the role you will be developing hardware and software solutions to test and industrialize both Integrated Circuit and Board (Module) solutions in the SAU market.Role and ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with the Product Development Team to understand the product and the end application, and provide Design for Test inputsSupport pre-silicon verification of the designs through hardware design / prototyping and software simulationsDevelop test plans and procedures to ensure product reliability and performanceDevelop hardware and software measurement systems, involving a mix of hardware design and software development to measure the product characteristicsWork on Automated Test Systems (ATE) hands-on debug of new products to quickly validate functionality and provide feedback to the design teamIdentify silicon/module shortcomings and work with the Development Team to drive investigations to root cause and solutions/workarounds in a timely and efficient mannerConduct statistical analysis of measurement data, summarise and present reports of product performance, and provide detailed reports to stakeholdersWork with Design Evaluation engineers on cross-correlation of bench and ATE measurementsWork closely with Design and Applications Engineers to understand and overcome obstacles and work towards a successful product releaseAvailable to travel (up to 10%)Relevant SkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalentPractical experience in test board design and layout with good understanding of measurement techniques and methodsPractical experience in mixed-signal hardware design, software development, data gathering and analysisExperience with scripting and languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB)Verilog and VHDL experience is a plusA solid background in mixed-signal electronicsStrong problem-solving and data analysis skillsGood initiative and motivation to work in a technical environment, motivated to work independentlyStrong communication skills and enjoys sharing knowledge and expertiseFor positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce -
