Head of Development – ItalyElgin invites you to apply for theHead of Development - Italyrole.Elgin ValuesAgility:We Lead with AgilityIntegrity:We Act with IntegrityExcellence:We Empower ExcellenceCare:We Value CareCore Behavioural Responsibilities For All EmployeesIntegration of our four core values into our employment processes and frameworks allows Elgin to recognise and respect individual employees for their personal contributions to their roles, their colleagues, stakeholders, and ultimately to the renewable energy sector.We see sustainability as every employee's responsibility and weaving sustainable practices into our values is paramount to the culture we seek to create.Job DescriptionThe role will be responsible for the overall operational and management of the development team in Italy.The key focus will be on driving business success and having a strategic role in leading all development of projects for Elgin within the Italian market.The role will work closely with and support the CDO to develop strategy, set budget, qualify opportunities and deliver project activities, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of Elgin.What you will do:Oversee and manage the Italian development team and in-country support functions in the delivery of utility-scale solar PV and storage projects from site origination through to Ready-To-Build (RTB).Build portfolio by sourcing and negotiating Development Service Agreements and originating greenfield projects.Develop and deliver market strategy, achieving success while demonstrating effective budget management.Engage collaboratively and effectively with key external and internal stakeholders in the full development process and management of the Italian development team on all project matters relating to development, including land, planning, grid connection, and route to market.Responsibility for ensuring clear, effective, and continuous communication on all Italian development activities across the legal, finance, technical, operational and commercial workstreams.Motivate and empower the development team and in-country support functions to take ownership and make decisions in their roles.Define and communicate team objectives to drive a team purpose.Ensure operational efficiency and productivity by streamlining internal and external processes and procedures across the company's project pipeline.Reporting to the C-suite regularly, including development strategy, project pipeline, project risks, investment/divestment risks, project cash flow management and preparation of budget proposals and ensuring the C-suite is kept fully abreast of any significant developments.Driving innovation and optimising each asset with respect to design, grid, planning, land etc., through financial analysis and modelling of each project.Provide knowledge and support to the development team across the full development cycle, including the identification and assessment of new opportunities, site origination, and energy yield.Your profileUndergraduate degree in business, engineering, environmental science or equivalent.8+ years' experience working in renewable energy, experience ideally coming from a development, technical/engineering or consultancy background.Proven background in developing an international pipeline of quality projects across the full development cycle through land acquisition and investment through to permitting and ready-to-build stages.Strong commercial knowledge and a proven ability in risk management and contractual negotiations.Ability to solve complex problems, be a 'big picture' thinker and ability to engage, lead, build and motivate a team.Extensive knowledge and understanding of renewable energy project development, internal and external stakeholder management and experience in reporting to executive management teams.Experience in a project management role with a proven track record of managing inputs from a multi-disciplined team.Understanding of the importance of environmental and social responsibilities and a proven ability to weave this into your team's objectives.About UsElgin is a leading international solar & storage company, bringing projects from origination through development to energisation.The company has a portfolio of projects in late-stage development totaling 15GW+ across four key markets: the UK, Australia, Ireland and Germany.Elgin Energy is an entrepreneurial business with a strong culture, pipeline, and future growth trajectory.The company has expanded internationally over the last 15 years with over 115 professionals located in its London, Dublin, Munich, Madrid and Sydney offices.Elgin has a 98% success rate through planning across all its markets.Please visit our website to learn more; or check out our LinkedIn;Seniority levelExecutiveEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionBusiness Development and SalesReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Elgin by 2x.Sign in to set job alerts for "Head of Development" roles.#J-*****-Ljbffr
