Operations Engineer, AMZL Start Up Execution Amazon created one of the most sophisticated supply chains in the world.As an Amazon Logistics Operations Engineer, you will lead and manage the lifecycle of challenging cross-functional projects, developing and delivering the next generation of sortation and distribution solutions.You are a customer obsessed leader that will play an integral part in planning and implementation of the facility network infrastructure including new builds, retrofits, expansions and program initiatives.Key responsibilitiesWork independently with internal and external teams to successfully manage the lifecycle of challenging projects, acting as owner in delivering on project objectives and targets.Actively participate in firm engineering reviews, making tangible impact on proposed solutions at the individual system, overall architecture and facility process levels.Partner with internal teams, stakeholders and external vendors to set project priorities, establish milestones and drive schedules to meet deadlines, proactively assessing dependencies and mitigating impact.Lead and coordinate all execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs per established standards and guidelines, performing installation, throughput and safety qualifications and simplifying bottlenecks.Lead effective meetings by setting objectives, aligning participants and documenting decisions to ensure alignment with internal partner teams and outside vendors.Promptly and accurately communicate project status, risk analysis and mitigation plans, regularly producing clear summaries for leadership.Efficiently manage change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validation.Excel at building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple projects.Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that enhance Engineering and cross-team efficiencies, generating cost-effective solutions within compressed periods.Travel up to 80% domestically, with flexibility for up to three weeks in a row, including weekends.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field.4+ years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, project manager, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation.Experience with leading projects, programs or initiatives with continually increasing scope and impact.Experience managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems.Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.).Master's degree in Engineering, Operations or a related STEM field (preferred).Operations Management/Distribution Center experience with direct responsibility for material handling, automation or other technical projects.Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing.Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet programs.Experience with design and/or implementation automation solutions such as Conveyors, Sorters, high-speed manufacturing and packaging lines, robotic work cells.Proven technical leadership for industrial engineering projects or programs.A day in the lifeYou are managing quality of implementation through multiple projects that can vary in scope, complexity and duration.Daily tasks may include site coordination with operations teams and contractors, deep-diving project progress, schedule and resources, and facilitating planning and/or implementation meetings with stakeholders.About the teamAt Amazon, we own everything.Our diverse, upbeat, creative team of engineers and managers works daily to ensure internal customers can deliver on the Customer Promise.We continuously improve our capabilities through incremental and breakthrough developments, raising the quality bar and never settling.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, please visit for more information.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets.Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on the position offered.This position will remain posted until filled.#J-*****-Ljbffr
