Dronus, a leading company in autonomous drone technology, isseekinga practical and detail-orientedGuidance, Navigation, & Control (GNC)Engineer to join our team in Trieste.The role focuses on developing highlyaccurateand robust control algorithms for use ina number ofdifferent applications with demandingenvironmentalconditions.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in UAVGNCdeveloping, tuning, andvalidatingflight control algorithms.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate innovative, reliable, and efficient GNC solutions to enable new and challengingaircraftcapabilities fordifferentplatform layouts (multirotor, variable geometry)Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (Systems, Software, Mechanical,Electrical) in planning,designand development of systems to ensure software and hardware performance and compatibilityAnalyse sensors' data anddeterminethe best approach toachieve a clean and robustnavigation solution, including for GNSS-denied airspace,leveragingthe available range of installed sensors, including IMU, pressure, VIOIdeate and perform flight test campaigns tovalidatethe control designs in a variety of flight conditions representative of real-world usageAssess third party andopen sourcesoftware which potentially augments existingflight control capabilitiesParticipate hands-on in the full software life cycle, from concept throughimplementation, integration to flight test.Experience RequirementsMS in Aerospace, Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering fieldsA minimum of 3years working in GNC, robotics, UAV engineering, aerospace, or related fieldsCoding experience (C/C++ preferred) for flight-critical componentsHands-on experience with at least one UAV class (multirotor, fixed-wing, VTOL)Proventrack recordtaking acontrol algorithmfromideationtoflight testingExperience collaborating with hardware, avionics, and software teamsPreferred QualificationsDemonstrated experience with PX4-based platformsExperience withvisual-inertial odometry (VIO), SLAMExperience with redundancy management, fault-tolerant controlExperience withValidation&VerificationproceduresKnowledge of sensor drift issues and mitigation methodsAbility to debug control/system issues in the fieldFamiliarity with version control and collaboration tools (Jira, Git, or equivalents)#J-*****-Ljbffr
