Our client is dedicated to making nuclear power more accessible and focuses on delivering: Simple and Safe Micro-Reactor Solutions Scalable, affordable, and deployable in various locations Generates energy at a rate of one megawatt electric (MWe) at a time They are currently developing a Micro Modular Reactor Capable of providing clean energy and radioisotopes where needed Initially supporting the reactor licensing process in the United States By partnering with them, we have the opportunity to contribute to A Rapidly Growing Scaleup Aiming to become a leading technology provider in global energy solutions Committed to innovation and sustainability This collaboration offers a unique chance to be part of a High-Performance Team Focused on delivering essential energy solutions worldwide RESPONSABILITIES & DUTIES The Electrical Engineer (Nuclear) will be responsible for: Designing, maintaining, and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of electrical systems within nuclear power plants, research facilities, and other nuclear installations. Working with high-voltage power distribution, emergency backup systems, instrumentation and control (I&C) systems, and regulatory compliance to ensure uninterrupted and safe plant operations. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including reactor operators, regulatory agencies, and maintenance personnel, to optimize performance and safety. Potential Next Steps As the company is expanding rapidly and planning international growth in ****, the right candidate may be considered for regional and/or global responsibilities. Your Responsibilities Will Include: Designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical systems, including power distribution, transformers, switchgear, and emergency backup systems. Ensuring compliance with NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission), IEEE, ANSI, and other regulatory and safety standards. ? Maintaining and troubleshooting plant electrical systems to prevent failures and minimize downtime. Developing and implementing electrical safety protocols, testing procedures, and maintenance schedules. Working with instrumentation and control (I&C) systems for reactor monitoring, automation, and safety mechanisms. Supporting plant modifications, system upgrades, and retrofits to enhance efficiency and regulatory compliance. Conducting fault analysis, power flow studies, and protective relaying coordination for electrical systems. Collaborating with reactor engineers, civil engineers, and safety specialists to integrate electrical components into plant designs. Assisting in regulatory audits, inspections, and documentation related to electrical systems. Providing technical support and training to plant operators and maintenance teams regarding electrical safety and operations. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 3-7 years in electrical engineering, preferably in nuclear, power generation, or industrial environments (entry-level positions may require internships or co-op experience). Certifications (Preferred): PE (Professional Engineer) license, IEEE certifications, or NRC-related qualifications. Understanding: Strong comprehension of power generation, distribution, and electrical system reliability. Proficiency: In electrical design and analysis software (e.g., ETAP, SKM PowerTools, AutoCAD Electrical). Knowledge: Of nuclear safety standards, regulatory compliance, and emergency power systems. Familiarity: With digital and analog control systems, instrumentation, and automation in nuclear facilities. Strengths: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Skills: Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with engineers, operators, and regulatory agencies. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and a strong commitment to nuclear safety and compliance. Ability: To work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple projects. Preferred: IPO experience. Written and oral fluency in Italian. Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
