Senior Electrical Design & Verification Engineer (DVE), OISL, Leo Optical ISL DevelopmentJob ID: ******* | Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLCAmazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.As a multidisciplinary avionics design team member, you'll work closely with PCBA design engineers, harness engineers, FPGA developers, embedded software developers and system and integration engineers.Your focus will be on design verification, taking designs from subsystem testing and initial build through functional testing and system performance validation.Key responsibilities include writing design verification plans for power and signal integrity, standard and custom communication interfaces between integrated circuits and boards, reviewing designs from a Design-For-Test perspective, developing testing methodologies and fixtures, creating test scripts with design and firmware engineers, using simulation tools to model circuits and systems, ensuring proper test execution and data review, troubleshooting electrical failures, and participating in test readiness reviews.Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Key Job ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage comprehensive test procedures and execute system and board level test plans.Collect test data, perform data analysis, and document results.Conduct test readiness reviews and align with stakeholders on data review activities.Define system test requirements and influence overall test strategy.Maintain requirements traceability during testing and solve integration and test problems in real time.Work autonomously to solve novel problems at scale.A Day in the LifeYou will tackle challenging, novel situations every day and collaborate with multiple technical teams across Amazon locations.As part of the Hardware Test Verification and Validation Team, you will develop hardware tests and test automation for validation of various avionics systems, requiring constant interaction with cross-functional HW/SW design teams and end-users.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.5+ years of experience in board level design verification for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products.5+ years of experience building test fixtures and complex test systems, including integrating test software.5+ years of experience developing requirements, plans, and procedures for product design verification.5+ years of experience with standard electronic lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).5+ years of experience with design or test of switching power supplies, electric motors, IMUs, sensors, and high-speed electrical signal characterization.5+ years of experience in design verification of high-speed interfaces, signal integrity and protocol compliance.Experience with hardware and software tools for test automation (NI, dSPACE, Python, C/C++, LabVIEW, etc.).Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills.Ability to coordinate between engineering, test lab, and technicians and schedule testing resources.Experience in test plans and protocols related to established Space Hardware test processes (GEVS / SMC-S-016).Experience with power supplies, IMUs, FPGAs, sensors, RF, and high-speed electrical signal characterization.Experience with design or test of circuit boards with complex microcontrollers, SOCs, or FPGAs.Experience with development of automated test systems.Experience with incoming calibration checks and developing calibration procedures.Experience reviewing requirements to support various test phases.Experience as the technical lead, leading small groups of other test engineers across multiple designs.Excellent communication, leadership skills and sense of ownership and drive.Compensation & BenefitsAmazon offers a total-compensation package that includes a competitive base salary, equity, sign-on payments, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.Base pay for this position ranges from $128,600 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600 per year in our highest geographic market.Amazon is an equal-opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.#J-*****-Ljbffr
