General Manager – Casa Newton, Tuscany (Live-In Position) Location: Pienza, Val d'Orcia, Tuscany, Italy Contract: Full-time, Onsite Languages: Fluent Italian & English Start Date: Beginning **** About Casa Newton Nestled in the rolling hills of Val d'Orcia, Casa Newton is a refined and soulful boutique retreat for discerning travelers seeking privacy, beauty, and genuine Italian hospitality.With its curated interiors, exceptional service, and intimate atmosphere, Casa Newton offers an elevated yet personal experience.We are now seeking a dynamic and passionate General Manager to join our team and lead day-to-day operations.The Role As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall success of Casa Newton, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, smooth operations, and a supportive work environment for the team.You will be the face of the property and the key point of contact for owners, staff, and guests.You'll be the soul of Casa Newton.This is not a behind-the-desk job; you will live andbreathe the property, working closely with the owners and the current team, welcoming guests, building community with local partners, and ensuring every stay is exceptional.Key Responsibilities Oversee all hotel operations, including front office, guest services, housekeeping, and F&B Maintain 5-star boutique service standards while ensuring a warm, personalized guest experience Recruit, manage, and motivate a small, close-knit team Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and operational protocols Manage daily budgets, supplier relations, and basic reporting Develop and nurture relationships with local partners, artisans, and producers Collaborate closely with our winery partner to create immersive guest experiences Take an active role in the ongoing creative and strategic development of Casa Newton Represent the property professionally both locally and online Communicate regularly with the owners with transparency and initiative Ideal Profile Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a management position in boutique or luxury hospitality, ideally in Italy Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Italian and English Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and comfortable with digital platforms such as Mailchimp Hands-on, proactive, and unafraid to jump in where needed, with a strong attention to detail and quality Natural host with excellent interpersonal and communication skills Able to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure Passion for design, wine, slow living, and authentic guest experiences Experience managing small teams and understanding the realities of small-scale operations Comfortable living on-site and embracing Tuscan countryside life EU citizenship or a valid work permit is required What we offer Competitive salary based on experience Opportunity to grow with an exciting, values-driven hospitality project A peaceful, inspiring environment with room for creativity and ownership
