Contract Engineer/ Quantity Surveyor – Major Industrial Projects Milan, Italy18-month contract (with potential extension)For a portfolio of major industrial projects in Milan, we are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to support project execution on medium-to-large capital projects in the €******* million range.This role sits close to the project team and plays a key part in managing contractual risk, claims, variations, and commercial performance throughout the execution phase.Role OverviewAs Contract Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing contract administration and commercial governance across complex industrial projects, working closely with project management, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.You will act as a key interface between internal stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring contractual compliance and protecting project outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesManage contract administration across engineering, procurement, and construction phasesLead the review, interpretation, and application of contract terms and conditionsHandle variations, claims, change orders, and commercial negotiationsSupport project teams with contractual risk identification and mitigation strategiesMonitor contractor performance against contractual obligationsContribute to cost control, forecasting, and commercial reportingSupport dispute avoidance and resolution where requiredEnsure proper documentation, correspondence, and record-keepingRequired Experience & ProfileProven experience as Contract Manager or Senior Contract Engineer on industrial projects (€*******m)Background in major industrial sectorsHeavy manufacturing or infrastructureStrong understanding of EPC / EPCM contracting environmentsSolid knowledge of contract forms (e.g. FIDIC or similar)Comfortable working on site and in multidisciplinary project teamsStrong commercial awareness and negotiation skillsEducation & LanguageDegree in Engineering, Project Management Quantity Surveying, or similarFluent English requiredItalian is a strong advantageContract DetailsLocation:Milan, ItalyDuration:18 monthsStart:ASAP / flexible
