Software Development Engineer, Customer Experience and Business TrendsAre you customer-obsessed, data oriented, and confident in proposing opportunities to improve our customers' experience across different Amazon businesses?Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is looking for a scale-focused and customer-obsessed Software Development Engineer.As an SDE, you will be part of a team that adds new capabilities to our customers through core engineering and AI/ML methodologies.The solutions heavily leverage technology to challenge conventional wisdom with hard data.Our SDEs solve complex problems and get to see the impact of their work first-hand.In this role you will have the opportunity to exercise your creativity and explore ideas to simulate and quantify any aspect of the customer experience.Key job responsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions for data collection and analysis platformsBuild and optimize automated data collection frameworks across different surfaces (web, mobile)Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement efficient solutionsWrite high-quality, maintainable code while following best practices and design patternsParticipate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentationDebug production issues and implement performance improvementsWork with ML technologies and extraction services to enhance data processing capabilitiesContribute to architecture decisions and technical strategyMentor junior developers and participate in team's agile development processA day in the lifeYou'll work closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and other engineers to build tools that enable large-scale data collection and analysis.You'll tackle challenges ranging from automation framework development to implementing new features for our self-service platforms, while ensuring high performance and reliability.About the teamCustomer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understanding and improving customer experience, globally.We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings – for almost every business at Amazon – for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers).Our approach is based on determining the customer need, alongside problem solving, and we work backwards from there.We use technical and non-technical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends.We are a global team, made up of a diverse set of profiles, skills, and backgrounds – including: Product Managers, Software Developers, Computer Vision experts, Solutions Architects, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analysts, Risk Managers, and more.Basic Qualifications3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience programming with at least one software programming languageExperience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsPreferred Qualifications3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentKnowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniquesExperience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customersOur inclusive cultureWe empower Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, including support for the interview or onboarding process, please visit for more information.If the country/region you're applying in isn't listed, please contact your Recruiting Partner.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.#J-*****-Ljbffr
