Butte Avenue, Florence, Arizona *****.Website: /Job DutiesConduct scheduled inspections and safety tours in staff, inmate, and visitor areas for safety and/or fire-related concerns/issues.Participate in training and Safety Committee meetings as needed.Provide oversight of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management.Conduct inspections, produce reports, and work with sites on corrective actions for code/standards compliance.Conduct follow-up inspections and report on corrective actions taken.Assist sites with compliance schedules.Inspects fire alarm devices and fire suppression equipment to ensure operational condition.Investigate all accidents/injuries involving staff, inmates, and visitors, writing reports and recommending corrective action.Oversee institutional compliance with environmental laws and rules within the scope of the ADCRR Environmental Management System (EMS).Coordinate with Safety and Loss Prevention Administrator on regulatory issues and responses.Maintain OSHA 501 General Industry certification and provide related training; use OSHA General Industry 10, 30, and 40-hour courses as needed.Train staff and inmates on toolbox or tailgate safety practices.Maintain NFPA 10 certification and monitor fire extinguisher maintenance.Conduct respirator fit testing of staff and inmates.Serve as the Safety Committee's investigative arm, working closely with the Occupational Health Unit.Attend meetings as directed by the FLS Administrator.Drive on State business when required.Perform other duties as appropriate to the assignment.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)Occupational health, fire and life safety, and environmental standards and procedures.Safety devices and personal protective equipment (PPE).State and federal laws, rules, standards, and guidelines (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ADOSH, ADEQ, ADHS).Safety consultation methods, root cause analysis techniques, and procedures.Compiling technical reports, memos, and consultative recommendations.Property loss control using the ADOA Loss and Prevention Manual.Safety programming (trenching, lockout/tag-out, electrical, plumbing, machine guarding, job safety/hazard analysis).Chemicals covered by the Federal Right-to-Know law and chemical effects.SkillsAnalyzing, evaluating, and interpreting technical data (e.g., test results, reports).Written and verbal communication.Building and maintaining interpersonal relationships.Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite & Google Suite.AbilitiesDetect hazards and recommend remedial action.Calibrate and maintain safety monitoring equipment and interpret#J-*****-Ljbffr
