Join to apply for theNavigation System IVV Engineerrole atThales.A Joint Venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), Thales Alenia Space is a global space manufacturer delivering, for more than 40 years, high-tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, exploration, science and orbital infrastructures.Thanks to our diversity of skills, talents and cultures, our customers (governments, institutions, space agencies, telecommunications operators) have Space to Connect, Secure & Defend, Observe & Protect, Explore, Travel & Navigate.We are looking for a Navigation System Engineer.Your responsibilities will include supporting the design of processes for the assembly, integration, and verification of satellite navigation systems.Your role will be integral to aiding the AIV Design & Planning Engineer in defining and executing test strategies and qualification campaigns.The work will be based in Rome, with occasional travel for on-site testing or customer meetings.You'll closely collaborate with the TASI System Navigation team, and you will also have the possibility to explore opportunities for temporary relocations outside Italy.Task DescriptionSupport the System Navigation Team in defining System Integration and Verification activities for Navigation Programs.Contribute to defining the Project's test strategy and Qualification campaign.Define the System assembly, Integration, and Verification Plan.Define the Operational Validation Plan.Prepare Review Verification Matrixes adhering to applicable standards (e.g., ECSS for ESA and EUSPA).Create System Test Cases for Ground and Space Segments, including compatibility tests campaign definition.Support the definition of System Test Tools, providing requirement specifications for tools needed in the AIV Plan and Test Cases.Prepare and define detailed Test Procedures.Conduct test execution, including planning, schedule definition, collaboration with other partners, and leading Test Readiness Reviews, Post Test Reviews, final Test Review Boards.Prepare inputs and collect output data from test execution.Conduct Test Data analysis and Prepare Test Reports.Contribute to the preparation of the Verification Control Document.Participate in major meetings/teleconferences with the customer and maintain regular contact.Periodically support the System Engineering Manager in preparing and conducting Progress Meetings in front of the customer.LanguageFluent English, spoken and written.Personal RequirementsThe ideal candidate has a strong inclination towards teamwork and is at ease mediating even between different requests.Open minded to different cultures in working, he always uses a collaborative approach, helping to find shared solutions.Experience in SW development (C, C++, Linux/Unix, Bash, Python) and knowledge of networking aspects (LAN, WAN structures, IP/Uni-Multi UDP/TCP/FTP/SFTP, Security architectures, FWs, Switches, Routing rules, VPNs) would be very useful in conducting the activity and appreciated.Background on telecommunications, with special focus on satellite navigation systems, is a plus.EligibilityEligibility to personal clearance is required.At Thales Alenia Space we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.With Thales Alenia Space employing around 8,900 employees in 10 countries with 17 sites in Europe and a plant in the US, our mobility policy enables employees each year to develop their careers at home and abroad.Thales Alenia Space sees space as a new horizon, helping to build a better, more sustainable life on Earth #SpaceForLife.Great journeys start here, apply now#J-*****-Ljbffr
