Headquartered in Italy with global support, Microtest remains committed to innovation, service, and quality, continuing to shape the future of semiconductor testing.We're looking for aR&D Software EngineerThe selected candidate will join theR&D Software team, within astructured and long-term growth path.The team is responsible for thedevelopment and continuous evolution of the software used in Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) systems, with a strong focus onquality, software architecture, and long-term sustainability.This position is intended forjunior profiles, including candidates with little or no prior professional experience, who demonstratesolid technical foundations and strong motivation for professional growth.ResponsibilitiesWorking alongside senior developers, the candidate will be involved in:development of software modules within an existing architecture;design, implementation, and evolution of new and existing functionalities;refactoring activities and continuous code improvement;support in the development of debugging and automation tools;writing tests to support the developed functionalities;understanding and using project timelines as a reference for activity planning;Responsibilities willprogressively increaseas autonomy and experience are acquired.Required Technical SkillsMaster's degree in Computer Engineering;solid understanding ofobject-oriented, concurrent, and distributed programming paradigms;ability to read and understand existing codebases;knowledge ofC# or C++;familiarity withtesting practices and CI/CD workflows;familiarity withWindows and Linux operating systems;fluency in English, both written and spoken;Preferred Technical Skillsbasic scripting skills (Python);familiarity with development environments such asVisual Studioand version control tools (e.g.,SVN and Git) ;basic knowledge of communication protocols such asUSB, TCP/IP, and Ethernet;experience withframeworks and technologies for user interface (UI) development, both desktop and web;basic knowledge ofcloud architectures and services;knowledge ofembedded and real-time systems(e.g., FreeRTOS) orhardware/software integration, including academic projects;Soft Skillsability to work effectively inmultidisciplinary teams;strong learning attitude and problem-solving mindset;interest incomplex systems, automation, or industrial software;precision, proactivity, and strong focus onproduct quality.
