Commodity Global Manager

Soa Risorse Umane , a Bonfiglioli Consulting group company specializing in personnel selection and HR consulting, is looking for a commodity global manager for a leading manufacturer of household appliances.The company is based in the United States and has several branches around the world.The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic management of assigned raw materials/spending categories. As a member of the supply chain team, they will work closely with global procurement specialists/directors, engineers, production and product managers to develop and implement comprehensive global procurement strategies to support the business plan. You will identify, evaluate, and select suppliers; negotiate prices and agreements with suppliers; be responsible for supplier relationships; mitigate material and supplier risks; and drive supplier performance using KPIs with defined measures. You will build value-added relationships with all stakeholders, including suppliers. You will provide support to management with information and activities related to suppliers, materials, and markets for assigned commodities.About the RoleJOB TITLE: GLOBAL COMMODITY MANAGERResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute cross-functional aligned global sourcing strategies for assigned commodities within authority and in line with objectives and policies. Strategies must balance short- and long-term objectives and business priorities to achieve performance goals related to quality, total cost, and availability of materials or services.Establish annual commodity management objectives with regular updates on progress. Effectively communicate global commodity market information to the organization.Understand the organization's needs in terms of alternative materials/suppliers. Investigate alternatives and make recommendations consistent with corporate and divisional objectives.Conduct research on market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier business models, and historical spending to improve negotiations for assigned categories and contracts.Evaluate existing and new suppliers based on applicable capabilities, quality systems, management and financial stability, cost competitiveness, responsiveness, collaboration, and innovation. Identify opportunities to access supplier technologies.Demonstrate supplier capabilities through key competency management.Measure and manage raw material and supplier performance using key metrics and communicate regularly with key suppliers.Manage the entire lifecycle of sourcing and procurement projects, working closely with suppliers and internal customers from planning and bid preparation to budgeting/forecasting, general delivery specifications, negotiation, contract execution, invoicing, and reporting in line with policies and objectives.Must be able to understand raw material supply and demand constraints, taking into account second-level impacts, and set up successful global order plans for effective purchasing organization.Implement and manage long-term agreements that ensure the best quality, delivery, and lowest total cost.Develop and implement sourcing strategies by creating action plans for strategic partnerships and mitigating underperforming suppliers.Regularly evaluate suppliers/raw materials and identify the progression of suppliers towards future partners (1 A suppliers) or initiate measures to remove underperforming suppliers.Conduct business reviews with key suppliers. QualificationsProcurement - Sourcing experience with most of the following sets of raw materials:Electromechanical components, motors, air management, PCBA, and wire/cable assembliesMetalworking, electropolishing, stamping, wire formingFasteners, injection-molded plastics, hoses, extruded rubber, insulation, heat managementCleaning chemicals, blast chillers, oven accessoriesExperience in developing and implementing global sourcing strategies.Proven track record of identifying, initiating, and delivering year-over-year cost savings.Ability to develop, interpret, and make decisions based on total cost of ownership models.Proven ability to work collaboratively, with strong networking, influencing, and organizational skills, and to drive effective project execution.Practical knowledge of how supply chains work and ability to evaluate the cost factors of industrial processes.Ability to work in a team, interact successfully with internal and external organizations, and communicate effectively in a timely manner, both verbally and in writing, to ensure positive results.Strong problem-solving techniques and ability to develop creative ideas and solutions.Strong analytical skills. Ability to understand and communicate basic technical information both internally and externally.Experience in the specific household appliance manufacturing sector is required, preferably with knowledge of the cooking sector.Experience in participating in complex long-term agreement negotiations and increasing managed expenditure is required.Proven computer skills are required, including the entire Microsoft Business suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point). Experience with Qlik is an advantage.Bachelor's degree in economics, supply chain management, or operations management, or an equivalent combination of formal education and work experience.Minimum of five years of experience in supply management, materials management, purchasing, manufacturing, or engineering.Ability to travel nationally and internationally (up to 50%).Experience in change management gained in a lean manufacturing or Six Sigma environment is preferred.Purchasing experience in a highly diversified, low-volume industry is advantageous.Excellent knowledge of English and a second language.Pay range and compensation packageWork location: fully remote.
