OverviewR&D Associate Engineer - Temporary at ABB.This position reports to the R&D Team Lead and is located in Dalmine (IT) within the Research and Development and prototype department Technology Center.The role involves temporary experience in prototype and R&D departments.ResponsibilitiesManaging prototyping procurement, prototype assembling, and reviewing the mechanical/electrical parts.Understanding 3D/2D parts and managing the construction process of prototypes.Taking care of the design procurement phase and prototype optimization by identification of supplier, treatment, and process.Following the prototype development, analyzing the executive drawings, defining the assembling process integration with the switchgear and the control circuits, and working closely in a multidisciplinary team.Contributing to drawing up the technical documentation required for production of the Circuit Breaker and carrying out activities to support and maintain the products when requested.Working closely with other colleagues/functions, being proactive and motivated.Being open to learn and contribute to the team success.QualificationsHigh school or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.Knowledge of mechanical design, 3D/2D drawings, and part tolerances of industrial applications.Experience with SolidWorks and 2D drawings.Interest in prototype assembly, integration, and tests to develop functionality and performance.Experience creating technical drawings, documents, and managing versioning for full tracking of the Circuit Breaker BOM procurement and its assembly.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and tolerance chains; awareness of the MV Circuit Breaker is a plus.Proactivity, ability to create innovation, negotiation and networking skills.Good communication skills.Positive spirit, proactivity, teamwork, speed, and problem solving.Proficiency in written and verbal Italian and good English.BenefitsCompetitive compensation: Attractive salary packages and performance bonuses.Corporate welfare: Access to a wide range of services and personal well-being support.Career development: Structured career paths, individual development plans, opportunities for internal mobility, including international roles, technical and managerial training programs, mentoring and access to global learning platforms.Flexibility and work-life balance: Flexible working hours, hybrid work options, and a strong focus on work-life integration.Employee Support: Free services like psychological help, wellness coaching, and emotional support for employees and their families.Parental Leave: At least 12 weeks of fully paid leave for primary caregivers and 4 weeks for secondary caregivers, promoting DEI values.Meal allowance: Canteen or meal tickets provided to support daily lunch expenses.We value people from different backgrounds.Could this be your story?Apply today or visit to read more about us and learn about the impact of our solutions across the globe.#J-*****-Ljbffr
