Senior Automation Engineer, Amazon Logistics MexicoThe Mexico Amazon Logistics (AMZL) team is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead the strategy and application of automated Material Handling Equipment (MHE) into our Mexican Delivery Station Network.The successful candidate will be a member of the Emerging Countries Engineering team and will be responsible to define, test, validate and implement various Automation systems in the Delivery Station network in Mexico.This role requires experienced and entrepreneurial minded Engineers with combined automation, engineering, planning and analytical skills.The engineer will support automation implementation projects and partner with Process Engineering teams, Operations leaders, Facilities and other Engineering teams to deploy and operate advanced technology across Amazon's last mile network.It will be based in Mexico City with frequent domestic travel and occasional international travel.The engineer will also partner with WW counterparts to benchmark and support parallel development projects.Key job responsibilitiesOwn automation strategy for MX last mile operationsIdentify process paths to automate based on various factors such as labor, cost, safety, performance, working with Process Engineering and Operations partnersAuthor business cases to introduce automation to the Delivery Stations network in MX and improve performanceLead MHE automation pilots in MX measuring success criteria for productivity, quality and safety metricsCollaborate with internal teams to provide technical documentation such as flow diagrams, equipment layouts, installation details, schedules and budgets for new automation systems to understand integration impacts on existing processes and building designSupport lessons learnt program for new automation system to understand improvements needed for next generation design iterationsWork with design and controls teams to detail out integration plans for MHE automationRepresent MX in cross functional teams to work on future technologies such as robotics, automation, IoT to integrate them into the Delivery Station eco-systemSupport execution of new MHE automation installations in partnership with field teams, defining the scalable turnkey deployment approach that field teams will utilize in the production environmentSupport development and implementation of Service and Maintenance concepts for AMZL Field teamsBasic QualificationsBachelor's degree7+ years of directly managing and responsibility for multiple large projectsExperience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)Strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipmentExperience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and high-speed manufacturing systemsFluency in English and Spanish (C1+)Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM fieldExperience with financial and statistical modelingInclusion and accommodationsOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.If you have a disability and need a workplace accommodation or adjustment during the application and hiring process, including support for the interview or onboarding process, please visit for more information.If the country or region you're applying in isn't listed, please contact your Recruiting Partner.Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability or other legally protected status.#J-*****-Ljbffr
