ContextThe Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) is part of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG).OIGI conducts inspections and investigations into allegations of wrongdoing and misconduct to establish facts and provide evidence and analysis for management action.OIGI investigations involve WFP personnel, cooperating partners, vendors and other parties.RoleAs part of the OIGI Intake team, this position supports preliminary reviews of complaints and allegations, working closely with subject-matter experts.The incumbent participates in all phases of the intake process, performs basic analysis, applies relevant standards and guidance principles, and collects preliminary data to support a recommendation to proceed or not with an allegation.Key Accountabilities (not all-inclusive)Carry out office and field-based reviews of complaints and allegations (preliminary assessments) and assist where necessary in investigations.Review and analyse information to assess relevance and reliability against a clear framework of policies and guidelines.Obtain initial information from witnesses through correspondence or interview.Gather and organise potential documentary and electronic evidence for further analysis.Conduct other necessary investigative research.Draft case assessments to be reviewed by the Head of Intake and ultimately submitted to the OIGI Case Review Committee.Refer WFP employees to guidance and advice on investigation matters and direct staff appointed by field offices to conduct investigations.Prepare draft reports and ad hoc briefs on preliminary assessments with assistance from intake members.Report progress to supervisor on preliminary assessments and investigations and draft assessment on probable impact of investigation outcomes.Liaise with local officials, governments and outside organisations to obtain internal support and initial information.Perform other related duties as required.Qualifications & Key RequirementsEducation:First university degree in criminology, law or a related field.Training from a police academy, law enforcement or similar government agency with extensive experience in investigations may be considered in lieu of a university degree.Experience:At least one year of postgraduate experience in investigations or analysis, ideally in preliminary assessments and/or planning and executing investigations with a focus on fraud and/or sexual harassment and abuse.Previous experience conducting investigations with a UN organization or international financing institution and working in developing countries is an asset.Language:Fluency (level C) in English.Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, Russian, and/or Portuguese (WFP's working language).Additional Attributes:Knowledge of investigations work, especially in an international environment.Basic knowledge of different investigative methods.Understanding of linkages between policy and operational practices.General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations and procedures.Strong communication and effective report-writing skills.Ability to manage high-volume recruitment processes in fast-paced environments.Fluency (level C) in Arabic, Spanish or French is desirable.Terms and ConditionsThis is an International Professional position (non-rotational) and is open to all nationalities.Mobility continues to be a core contractual requirement.The position is non-rotational; the incumbent will not be subject to the regular reassignment process unless reclassified.Selected candidate will be employed on a fixed-term contract with a one-year probationary period.Open to both internal and external candidates.Compensation and benefits package aligns with ICSC standards ( including basic salary, post adjustment, relocation entitlement, visa, travel and shipment allowances, 30 days' annual leave, home leave, an education grant for
