Testing & Certification Engineer

Cavotec is a leading engineering company with 50 years of heritage in innovation, designing and delivering advanced connection and electrification solutions that drive the decarbonisation of ports and industrial applications.With five decades of experience, our systems ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable operations for a diverse range of customers and applications worldwide.Summary:In this role, you will be responsible for testing electromechanical systems, verifying compliance with international safety and performance standards, and managing the product certification process for a range of industrial solutions.You will contribute to the development and launch of electrification and automation systems used in ports, airports, heavy industry, and transportation fields.Responsibilities:Define test equipments, procedure and condition to perform reliable testingTest equipments to investigate performances of the defined range of product, when required, according to a long term planVariable Frequency Drives programming, settings and parametrizationDefine the instrumentation diagrams, together with the software developers, mechanical teams and suppliersCollaborate closely with other teams to verify the existence and adequacy of type tests for current and new designs, providing expert technical input to support customer bids and product launches.Design, develop, and execute test plans for new and existing products both internally and at external (3rd party) facilitiesManage the preparation and validation of all necessary documentation, test reports, and evidence to support regulatory certification, audits, and customer requirements.Analyze and interpret test results, identify deviations, and collaborate with design teams to resolve issues and optimize product performance.Maintain and continuously update the type test databases, including specialized records for seismic and other special tests, ensuring data accuracy and accessibility.Contribute to products qualification, validation (testing), and certifications (Class approval) activitiesSupport engineering and quality teams during design reviews, FMEA sessions, and root cause analysis of non-conformitiesPlan, design, and execute functional, mechanical, electrical, and environmental test procedures on products such as motorized cable reels, power units, charging interfaces, and distribution panelsEnsure products meet applicable regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., IEC, ISO, UL, CE, EMC, LVD, Machinery Directive)Manage certification processes with third-party laboratories and notified bodies, preparing and maintaining all necessary technical documentation (e.g., test reports, risk assessments, declarations of conformity)Define and implement test protocols for type testing, design validation, and regression testing, both manual and automatedRequirements:Degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.Significant experience managing type testing activities, preferably in electrical or mechanical component industries, with a focus on similar products.Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing technical projects.Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to type testing and product certification (e.g., IEC, IEEE, ..).Strong understanding of testing procedures and protocols, including execution and reporting.Read and write electrical diagram, understanding of hydraulics diagrams is a plus.Familiarity with quality systems (e.g., ISO ****, ISO *****) and CE/UKCA marking processesFluency in English and Italian are mandatory to be successful in the roleExperience with programming motor drives and setting programming parameters (ABB, Siemens, Vacon-Danfoss, Yaskawa)Candidates not in line with the requirements described above will not been taken into consideration.Please attach your updated CV in English to your application.
