*****: Head of Road Transport - Global Leader in Heavy IndustryJoin to apply for the *****: Head of Road Transport - Global Leader in Heavy Industry role at Kienbaum Netherlands3 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsThe OrganizationWe are looking for a Head of Road Transport for a global industrial group operating in more than 60 countries.The organization manages a multibillion-euro procurement spend and delivers reliable, high-quality logistics and supply chain services to internal stakeholders across Europe.The RoleThe Head of Road Transport leads the European road transport procurement strategy, overseeing a large spend across multiple countries.The role sets the long-term roadmap for transport sourcing, integrates customer needs across business units, and ensures the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective transport services.This includes defining and executing a holistic transport strategy that incorporates demand trends, market conditions, regulatory changes, technology developments, and service KPIs.The role manages supplier panels, negotiates contracts, and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the network.It also contributes to multimodal logistics strategy including rail, ports, inland waterways, and maritime.A distributed team of buyers and support staff across several European locations reports directly or indirectly to this position.The position is based in Luxembourg; relocation or a daily commute is required.The Ideal CandidateMinimum 10 years of experience in road transport, logistics, or supply chain across a European or global scope.Background in engineering, procurement, supply chain, finance, strategy, or operations management.Strong leadership skills with experience managing multicultural and multi-country teams.Proven purchasing and negotiation capabilities, with deep knowledge of road transport markets.Experience developing and implementing sourcing strategies and managing supplier panels.Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate ideas into measurable results such as TCO improvements, KPIs, and operational gains.Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and deliver results under pressure.Familiarity with regulatory requirements, sustainability, risk management, and standard contractual terms.Strong customer orientation and ability to manage diverse stakeholder needs across multiple sites.Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage.Please submit your CV in English, and an application letter if desired.Reference and diploma checks are standard parts of the procedure; assessments, backgroundchecks, and pre-employment screening may also be included.Seniority levelExecutiveEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustries: Business Consulting and Services#J-*****-Ljbffr
