Job Description SummaryAt Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace company, we invent the future of flight, lift people up, and bring them home safely.We are a world-leading provider specializing in the design, production, and maintenance of components and propulsion systems for both civil and military aviation.Respect for people is core to our culture and commitment to FLIGHT DECK, our proprietary lean operating model.We attract, develop, and retain industry-leading talent from all backgrounds and cultivate communities where people are respected and empowered to reach their fullest potential.For the people of GE Aerospace, their work isn't just a job.It's their passion and purpose.We work and win as one team, accountable to each other and our customers, and we are always finding a better way to climb higher together.We were meant to fly.Manage the buying process for a given set of goods.Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team.Focused on execution of standard enabling activities / provision of advice subject to policy and work routines within an enabling discipline.There may be some latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task / duties based on changing situations.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesWithin the Avio Aero's Supply Chain team, the Casting Junior buyer will :Manage the sourcing process, from evaluation of requestor's requirements to PO placement for a specific set of GoodsManage vendor tooling, including spending authorizations, refurbishment and replacement needs, monitoring plans for the construction of new tooling, and the status of existing tooling for a specific set of GoodsUnderstand the Castings Commodity needs based on Commodity Strategy in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing team and Casting Technical ExpertSupport the strategy definition and execution for the specific set of goods within the Casting Commodity, including de-risking activities.Support Supplier management with the aim to strength relationship with strategic suppliers and create action plan for critical suppliers, in collaboration with strategic teamPerform spent analysis for the given set of goods within Castings commodity and with reference to the Budget and Long Range Forecast goals (including deflation, cost out, days to pay)Apply cost and price analysis techniques, using available expertise from supporting organizationsNegotiate PO, following applicable company and government regulationsSupport Negotiation of development and purchase long term contracts, following applicable delegation of authority, company and government regulations, maintaining accurate records of the agreements, and related documentation.Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projectsWork in collaboration with Supplier Quality Teams and Procurement team to meet established goal of OTD, delinquency and vendor recovery, applying LEAN method to problem solvingIn doing so, it will be mandatory for you to maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with supply base and internal customers.Qualifications / RequirementsFluent in Italian and EnglishBachelor's degree from an accredited university or collegeBasic analytical and problem solving skills, with sound judgment and a diplomatic attitudeAbility to communicate effectively in oral and written formKnowledge of SAP MRP software systemProficient in MS Office (e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)Highly motivated team memberProactivity, Customer orientation, initiative, autonomyWork Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is requiredAvailability to job travel (20%)Desired characteristicsKnowledge of current market conditions and sources of supplyKnowledge of castings processes and tooling managementPrevious experience in sourcing organizationNegotiation skillsPositive working attitude and proven understanding of how to be an effective service provider within an organizationAbility to handle several activities simultaneously, manage multiple priorities and resolve appropriatelyWhat we offerSmart working and work life-balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes remote work and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.We value our employees' wellbeing;
