Country Controller Italy Join us as Country Controller to take your career to the next level.Make your mark in FinanceOur Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG.It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise optimizing operations controllership funding and capital structure to honor our stakeholder commitments.The teams work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making complying with regulatory requirements and maintaining financial discipline transparency and controls while providing timely and meaningful information.The responsibilities for this role include :Responsible for meeting the timely and accurate reporting of USGAAP results for the branch includingManaging the communication of and monitoring adherence to the periodic close calendar by Accenture and local finance teamsProviding USGAAP subject matter advice including ensuring accounting policy changes are implemented consistentlyResponsible for the quality of USGAAP ledger postings including monitoring the consistent use of SAP code blocks and charts of accountsMonitoring and report progress and quality of balance sheet reconciliations for all entities in the branch.Key contact in the support of the transformation of the Controlling teams to achieve increased data quality in the ledgers to reduce manual intervention through process consistency and effectiveness.Responsible for production of and support for queries for all Local GAAP regulatory reporting and local tax process and audit of same.Responsible in the coordination of the preparation of country statutory returns including communication with local finance teams outsourced professional service firm (EY) and Accenture.Contact point for External Audit (PWC), Actuarial Risk and Tax teams for all USGAAP controllership financial reporting topics and issues.What were looking for :Post graduate experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and / or relevant corporate or business finance role in a complex multinational corporation.Proven controllership experience within an insurance organizationFinance project or transformation experienceTechnical accounting expertise with understanding and interpretation of accounting policies under US GAAP and European GAAPsEnglish (fluent) and Italian (fluent).Graduate Qualified Accountant or equivalentPrior work experience in a multinational organization with varied geographical location and matrix reporting structure preferred.At AIG we value in-person collaboration as a vital part of our culture which is why we ask our team members to be primarily in the office.This approach helps us work together effectively and create a supportive connected environment for our team and clients alike.Enjoy benefits that take care of what mattersAt AIG our people are our greatest asset.We know how important it is to protect and invest in whats most important to you.That is why we created our Total Rewards Program a comprehensive benefits package that extends beyond time spent at work to offer benefits focused on your health wellbeing and financial securityas well as your professional developmentto bring peace of mind to you and your family.Reimagining insurance to make a bigger difference to the worldAmerican International Group Inc.
