Mechatronic Engineer – Space Systems

ARESYSis an Italian SME providing innovative satellite-based sensing solutions to theSpace and Defensemarkets.ARESYSoffers 20+ years of expertise in designing and developingon-boardandon-groundsystems with a vertical specialization inmicrowave(Radar, SAR) and Optical technologies.We are seeking aMechatronic Engineerto join our space systems engineering team.The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing mechanical components for CubeSats, SmallSats, test benches, electronic enclosures, and deployable mechanisms.This role requires a strong background in mechanical design, precision engineering, and knowledge of space-qualified materials and manufacturing techniques.OverviewMain tasks and responsibilities:Design and developmechanical structures and mechanismsfor CubeSats and SmallSats, ensuring compliance with space environment requirements.Developelectronic enclosureswith proper thermal and structural considerations for avionics and payload integration.Designtest benchesfor qualification and validation of space systems, including structural and thermal testing.Conductstructural, thermal, and vibration analysisusing FEA and simulation tools.Select and integratematerials and coatingscompatible with space applications, including low outgassing, RF transparency, and radiation resistance.Collaborate with electrical and systems engineers to ensure mechanical designs meet overall spacecraft requirements.Overseeprototyping, assembly, and testingof mechanical components and mechanisms.Work with manufacturing partners to ensureDFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly)principles are applied.Participate inenvironmental and qualification testing, including vibration, thermal vacuum, and shock tests.Document designs, perform trade studies, and contribute to design reviews.Required QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree inMechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.Experience in mechanical designfor space or aerospace applications.Proficiency inCAD software(e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360, or Creo).Knowledge ofFEA and simulation tools(e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran).Familiarity withspace-grade materials, coatings, and fasteners.Understanding ofthermal management and structural integrityin space systems.Hands-on experience withprototyping, 3D printing, and precision machining.Ability to work withcross-functional teamsincluding electrical, thermal, and systems engineers.Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex mechanical challenges.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge ofadditive manufacturing techniques for space applications.Familiarity withsatellite standards (CubeSat, ECSS, NASA GEVS, MIL-STD-****, etc.).Experience withenvironmental testingfor space hardware.Optional plus: experience withdeployable mechanisms, hinges, and release mechanismsWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on cutting-edgespace technologies and satellite missions.A dynamic and innovative work environment.Competitive salary and benefits package.Hands-on experience withreal spaceflight hardware and testing.If you are passionate about space engineering and mechanical design, we encourage you to apply and be part of our mission to advance small satellite technologies.Our organization operates in accordance with gender equality and is committed to supporting inclusivity and diversity.Please submit your application without providing information about marriage, pregnancy, or family responsibilities.Applications must not contain information about the family status of candidates or any pregnancy.#J-*****-Ljbffr
