Senior Data Engineering ManagerJoin our Movement and Champion Restaurant CultureAt TheFork we believe that the best things in life happen around the table, and we are on a mission to connect the world's favorite restaurants and the broadest community of loyal diners.Finding the best dining experience for our diners community or boosting restaurant performance for our restaurateurs partners has never been easier thanks to our signature products:TheFork App – a free restaurant discovery & booking app that helps you find your next table with ease.TheFork Manager – an innovative software tool that digitizes restaurant operations, empowering our restaurateurs to manage bookings efficiently and boost revenue.TheFork PAY and TheFork Gift Card – quick and easy ways to pay directly from TheFork app.Our core values—Better Together, Ownership, Respect, Growth—shape everything we do and are reflected in our behaviors: "Come as you are," "Dig in," and "Make it Memorable."TheFork leads the restaurant booking market in Europe, operating in 11 countries.Our offices host a fully international team working in a flexible, multicultural, and constructive environment that provides space for professional and personal growth.What you will do: We're on a journey to revolutionize our data capabilities through the modernization of our Data Platform, unlocking insights and innovations that will power the company's future.We're looking for a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead and inspire teams to drive the future of data in our company.If you're passionate about leading from the front and pushing boundaries, join us on this journey.Responsibilities:Lead 2 teams of Data Engineers and Data Ops to implement and maintain best practices in data processing according to the Data Lakehouse approach.Work closely with Data Governance, Product Management and Architects to drive platform improvements and support evolving needs of data and engineering teams.Own the data platform roadmaps.Enhance and maintain robust batch ingestion and validation pipelines.Participate in our data transformation program, taking direct ownership of a self-service data platform and contributing to the implementation of data governance principles.Collaborate with engineering teams to implement engineering best practices within the data ecosystem.Lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team and ensuring collaboration and alignment with broader business objectives.Mentor and upskill team members.Contribute to system architecture designs with Architects.Coordinate and run proofs of concept (POCs).Qualifications:Proven leadership and mentorship experience guiding data engineering teams.Extensive experience with Data Lakehouse architectures and implementation.Solid understanding of Data Mesh, including domain ownership, federated governance, and data product design.Solid understanding of Data Governance and Quality, covering metadata management, data lineage, and data observability.Proven experience using AWS services and familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform).Proficiency in Python, SQL, Snowflake and Airflow.Experience with data modeling and knowledge of medallion architecture.Experience with Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake (preferred).Realtime data processing at scale (preferred).Benefits:
