Deputy Secretary General/Head of EIB Group Permanent Representative's Office in Brussels/BelgiumJoin to apply for theDeputy Secretary General/Head of EIB Group Permanent Representative's Office in Brussels/Belgiumrole atEuropean Investment Bank (EIB)TheEIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Secretariat General Directorate (SG), located in the EIB Permanent Representative's Office in Brussels/Belgium, aDeputy Secretary General/Head of EIB Group Permanent Representative's Office.This is a full-time temporary position at grade 9 inBrussels/Belgium.The appointment is for a term of 5 years.The EIB offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of 6 years, with the possibility to convert to a permanent contract based on organizational needs and individual performance.Assessment centres are anticipated for the second half of June ****.Panel interviews are expected in July ****.PurposeThe position involves supporting the Secretary General in leading the EIB Group's Permanent Representative's Office in Brussels, overseeing departments related to economic analysis and strategy.The role requires managing staff, providing leadership, and ensuring effective communication with EU institutions and stakeholders.The role may evolve over time, and the candidate will split their working time between Brussels and Luxembourg.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage staff within your hierarchy, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed.Develop strategic orientations for the EIB Group in close interaction with internal and external stakeholders, especially EU institutions.Maintain and enhance relationships with EU institutions in Brussels, ensuring effective communication and coordination.Ensure strategic priorities are developed and implemented effectively, aligning with EU policies.Manage institutional relations and high-level interactions with stakeholders, particularly the European Commission.Develop and coordinate strategic projects and initiatives across the EIB Group.Ensure effective internal communication and cooperation within your department and across the organization.Organize resources and processes to implement the EIB Group's strategy efficiently.Design organizational structures and performance indicators to meet objectives.Ensure staff resources are adequately sized and organized for optimal performance.Lead decision-making processes and ensure accountability and delegation.Maintain relationships with governing bodies and represent the EIB Group externally.QualificationsUniversity degree (minimum Bachelor's), preferably in business, finance, economics, law, or international relations.Extensive experience with EU institutions or high-level public sector roles related to EU matters.At least ten years in managerial roles with proven leadership and team motivation skills.Experience leading multidisciplinary international teams.Good knowledge of EIB objectives, business models, and EU budget interactions.Solid understanding of finance and banking institutions.Experience in economic analysis, strategy, or policymaking.Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and sound judgment.Excellent communication, interpersonal, diplomatic, and leadership skills.Creativity, openness to innovation, and change management skills.Fluent in English and/or French, with proficiency in the other language preferred.Knowledge of additional EU languages is an advantage.Additional InformationProficiency in both English and French (level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, CEFR B1.2) is required for career development within the EIB.The organization values diversity and encourages applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including those with disabilities or neurodivergent profiles.Reasonable accommodations can be requested during the recruitment process.Application deadline:3rd June ****.#J-*****-Ljbffr
