Offer Description The project aims to investigate and develop innovative materials and processes for the biotechnological remediation of contaminated aquifers, with particular emphasis on the sustainability and effectiveness of remediation strategies. The research activities will focus on the design and characterization of functional materials capable of supporting and enhancing biological processes for contaminant degradation. Integrated strategies based on the coupling of adsorption, biodegradation, and biotransformation processes will be investigated, with particular attention to potential synergistic effects. The developed systems will be characterized through experimental studies at different scales, aimed at elucidating the underlying mechanisms and optimizing the main process parameters. The ultimate goal is to contribute to the development of effective, sustainable, and in situ applicable remediation technologies for the treatment of contaminated groundwater.
