Overview

You support UNICRI in designing and delivering research, assessments, and capacity-building activities to strengthen criminal justice and law enforcement responses to complex, transnational crime. You will contribute to methodological development, comparative analyses, and policy-oriented recommendations within ongoing projects. You work with cross-functional partners to identify gaps, test innovative approaches, and develop strategic roadmaps. This role offers impact at the intersection of research, policy, and international cooperation, within a UN justice-focused program.

Responsabilità

  • Conduct research and comparative analysis on criminal justice and law enforcement practices
  • Assess investigative, prosecutorial, and related institutional processes
  • Analyze operational, legal, governance and information management frameworks relevant to investigations and asset recovery
  • Support stakeholder consultations, workshops and expert meetings
  • Identify gaps and opportunities to strengthen investigative effectiveness and cross-institutional cooperation
  • Design and implement pilot analytical exercises or proof-of-concept activities
  • Prepare analytical reports, assessments and evidence-based recommendations
  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps and capacity-building recommendations

Requisiti fondamentali

  • Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in criminal justice, law enforcement cooperation, anti-corruption, asset recovery, or related fields
  • Experience in institutional assessments, comparative analyses, stakeholder consultations, policy development and capacity-building initiatives
  • Experience working with law enforcement agencies, prosecution services, anti-corruption bodies, asset recovery offices, international organizations or governmental institutions (highly desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Analytical research and comparative analysis
  • Knowledge of investigative processes, governance and information management frameworks
  • Capacity-building design and strategic planning
