The Role
Sicilsaldo S.P.A., an Italian company operating internationally in the Oil & Gas and Energy Infrastructure sectors, is looking for an experienced International Tax & Accounting Manager to join its Headquarters in Gela, Sicily.
The position will have a group-wide international scope, supporting the Italian Headquarters in the management and coordination of the tax and accounting aspects of Sicilsaldo's foreign branches, subsidiaries and international projects.
We are looking for a professional with solid experience in international taxation, cross-border operations and accounting, ideally gained within structured engineering, construction, EPC, Oil & Gas or infrastructure companies with significant international operations.
The successful candidate will act as a key point of reference for the Group on international tax matters, local compliance, tax planning and the financial/accounting coordination of foreign entities, working closely with the CFO, Finance Department, local management and external tax/accounting advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee tax and accounting matters relating to Sicilsaldo's foreign branches and subsidiaries.
Monitor compliance with local tax, accounting and corporate regulations in the countries where the Group operates.
Coordinate with local accountants, tax advisors, auditors and legal professionals.
Analyse the tax implications of international projects, contracts, intercompany transactions and cross-border flows.
Support the Group in identifying and implementing legally compliant tax-efficient structures and solutions.
Provide guidance on international taxation, permanent establishments, withholding taxes, corporate taxation, VAT and other indirect taxes applicable to international activities.
Support the management of intercompany transactions and transfer pricing matters.
Monitor tax risks arising from the establishment and operation of branches, subsidiaries and permanent establishments in foreign jurisdictions.
Support the Finance Department in the preparation and review of budgets, forecasts, financial statements and management reporting relating to international operations.
Analyse the accounting and tax treatment of international contracts, project costs, revenues and intercompany charges.
Liaise with local advisors to ensure consistency between Group policies and local statutory requirements.
Support the CFO and Senior Management in assessing the tax and financial impact of new investments, contracts, countries and business structures.
Identify potential tax risks, optimisation opportunities and compliance gaps, proposing corrective actions.
Travel frequently to the Group's foreign operations, particularly in Africa, Mexico and the Middle East, to support local management and finance teams.
Requirements
Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Tax Law or a related discipline.
At least 10-15 years of relevant professional experience in international tax, accounting and/or finance.
Proven experience in internationally structured companies, preferably within:
Oil & Gas
EPC / Engineering & Construction
Pipeline / Energy Infrastructure
Industrial Construction
Energy
International Contracting
Strong knowledge of international taxation and cross-border transactions.
Solid understanding of corporate taxation, VAT, withholding taxes, permanent establishments and transfer pricing.
Good accounting knowledge and ability to understand and analyse financial statements and accounting processes.
Proven ability to work with local tax/accounting advisors and foreign finance teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple countries and projects simultaneously.
Fluent English – mandatory.
French and/or Spanish – highly desirable, particularly considering the Group's geographical footprint.
Willingness and availability to undertake frequent international business trips.
Experience in Oil&Gas international organisations would be considered particularly relevant.
