Arkage is looking for a Mid/Senior UI Designer (Milan) is that you?

What you do on a daily basis

Design high-fidelity interfaces for websites, apps, and digital products, ensuring a perfect balance between aesthetics and usability.

Support the creation and maintenance of Design Systems , ensuring visual consistency across all client touchpoints.

Collaborate closely with UX designers and developers to transform wireframes and concepts into polished, production-ready layouts.

Use AI-powered design tools to speed up your workflow, from asset generation to layout optimization and exploring new visual styles.

Manage design hand-offs with precision , providing clear documentation and ready-to-use assets for the development team via Figma .

Participate in creative brainstorming sessions , contributing fresh visual ideas and staying up-to-date with the latest design trends.

Work iteratively on designs based on feedback from senior designers, stakeholders, and user testing data.

Please note : Preference will be given to candidates with a VAT number and/or based in the Milan area.

Who you are
You are a Mid/Sr UI Designer (5-7 years of experience) with a keen eye for detail and a passion for clean, modern design. You have worked on digital projects and understand that a great interface must be both beautiful and intuitive. You are proactive, curious , and eager to learn in a dynamic environment. You have a mobile-first mindset and a solid understanding of responsive design principles. You are comfortable working in a team, welcome feedback as an opportunity for growth, and are excited about how Artificial Intelligence is transforming the design process.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Excellent mastery of Figma: Components, auto-layout, and prototyping are your daily bread.

Solid UI fundamentals: Typography, color theory, grid systems, and visual hierarchy.

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite: Basic knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator for asset preparation.

Hands-on experience with AI tools: Curiosity or experience in using generative AI (e.g., Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, or Figma AI plugins) to empower the creative process.

Understanding of Web Accessibility (WCAG): Sensitivity in designing inclusive interfaces for every type of user.

Basic understanding of ecommerce logic (purchase funnel, conversion rate, cross/up-sell)

Experience with A/B testing on ecommerce

Familiarity with CMS platforms

Portfolioshowing polished UI work, personal projects, or internship experiences.

Prototyping Skills: Ability to create advanced interactive prototypes to test ideas before they hit development.

Basic Front-end Knowledge: You don't need to code, but knowing the basics of HTML/CSS helps you speak the same language as our devs.

AI Curious: Previous experience (or a strong interest) in using AI tools like Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, or ChatGPT to optimize the design workflow.

Good knowledge of English (B2 level or higher) .

Compensation and professional category will be based on the candidate's actual experience and will fall within the following ranges:

€28,000–€33,000 gross annual salary (RAL) in the case of an employment contract

€38,000–€45,000 gross annual compensation in the case of a freelance / VAT-registered contractor

Working hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The initial contract will have a duration of 6 to 12 months, with the aim of developing the collaboration into a stable, long-term employment relationship.
