About the Role:
For a profitable and strategically important manufacturing site in the Bolzano area , we are looking for an experienced Plant Manager to take full operational ownership of the site and strengthen performance, structure, and leadership discipline.
This is a senior on-site role for a strong operations leader who is comfortable stepping into a historically under-managed environment and bringing a more structured, data-driven, KPI-led approach to site leadership.
The business is already profitable, but the group is looking for a leader who can re-establish control, improve performance transparency, and drive stronger accountability across the plant .
The role operates in an international matrix structure , reporting into regional leadership, and requires close cross-functional collaboration across operations and commercial interfaces. Exposure to customer-facing discussions from an operational perspective is considered a plus.
Relocation support can be considered for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Take full operational leadership responsibility for the manufacturing site
Re-establish structure, control, and accountability across day-to-day plant operations
Lead the site with a data-driven management style , using KPIs, performance reviews, and operational transparency as core tools
Oversee and coordinate all key site functions including production, maintenance, quality, planning, and supply chain
Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient site operations in line with group standards
Monitor and improve operational and financial performance, with clear focus on productivity, service, cost, and profitability
Build and implement structured KPI dashboards, routines, and reporting discipline
Identify inefficiencies and lead improvement initiatives across processes, output, quality, and cost
Strengthen leadership standards and team accountability in a site that requires a more structured operational setup
Work closely with regional and international stakeholders
Collaborate with commercial stakeholders and support operational alignment in customer-related matters where needed
Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate Profile:
Proven leadership experience as Plant Manager, Site Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager, Plant Director, or similar in a manufacturing environment
Strong background in operations leadership , ideally in packaging, printing, converting, industrial manufacturing, or a comparable process-driven production environment
Experience improving or stabilizing performance in a less structured or under-managed plant environment
Strong data-driven mindset with clear comfort around KPIs, reporting, performance management, and operational decision-making based on facts
Solid understanding of plant performance drivers across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and profitability
Strong leadership presence with the ability to create structure, discipline, and ownership across teams
Comfortable in a fully on-site role (5 days per week)
Experience working in an international is an advantage
Exposure to commercial collaboration or customer-facing operational discussions is a plus
Fluent in Italian and English ;
