Offer Description This research aims to reconstruct the critical reception of Polish literature in Italy from the Unification to the outbreak of the Second World War, with a focus on the periodical press. The study will identify and analyze various forms of critical reception—such as reviews, biographical pieces, promotional articles, and commentaries—within Italian literary and cultural journals, examining how Polish authors were presented and evaluated. It will also consider the extent to which this reception may have relied on foreign critical sources. The project will involve a bibliographic survey and the examination of a selected set of periodicals, chosen based on their significance and the availability of collections. The analysis of these materials will situate individual contributions within the context of the specific publications, while exploring the role of cultural mediators and the evolution of critical perspectives throughout the period in question.
