Job Description: Are you ready to lead the development of the heart of Allegro's platform? We are looking for a Product Manager to spearhead the vision and execution for our main search engine. In this critical role, you will build both a technical and product roadmap shoulder‐to‐shoulder with our engineering team, creating a future, innovative search experience.
This is a mission‐critical product area that operates 24/7 and constantly generates revenue for Allegro. You will be working on a system with a massive, unique scale that is incredibly hard to find anywhere else in Poland. Because reliable data serving from the search engine is absolutely vital for other platform areas - powering listings, recommendation systems, and extensive marketing campaigns - we aim to maintain a 100% SLA. This role sits at the perfect intersection of technology, business strategy, and cross‐functional collaboration.
We are looking for people with: Independence & True Ownership: A highly autonomous approach to work. While you will be part of a highly supportive team that has your back, we expect you to treat this product and team as your own domain. We take ownership seriously and are looking for proactive individuals who thrive with a high level of autonomy.
Data Proficiency & Evaluation Skills: The ability to independently acquire, query, and work with data to draw valuable insights and drive product decisions. This includes strong skills in defining, monitoring, and rigorously reviewing metrics, combined with a deep understanding of the difference between input measures (e.g., model quality) and output measures (e.g., business conversion).
DS/ML Background: Previous experience or a strong interest in Data Science, Data Analytics, or Machine Learning is highly welcomed.
Product Management Experience: Proven experience as a Product Manager or in a similar role within highly scalable, technical, or algorithmic environments.
Technical & Analytical Mindset: A strong understanding of core search engine architecture, optimization algorithms, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions.
Strategic Roadmap Planning: Experience in building delivery plans for at least one quarter and a long‐term product vision, mapping out increments based on algorithmic and infrastructural improvements.
Problem‐Solving Frameworks: A sharp ability to discover real user and merchant problems, maintaining a clear distinction between the "problem space" and the "solution space".
Resilience & Communication Under Pressure: Excellent interpersonal skills to balance competing priorities, defend product decisions with hard data, and clearly explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Language Skills: English at a minimum B2 level.
In your daily work, you will handle the following tasks: Product Vision and Strategy (Search): Setting the direction for organic search results, while clearly articulating the business value behind new AI tools and optimization algorithms.
Core Search, Relevance, and Query Understanding: Collaborating closely with technical teams to directly impact the architecture, stability, search relevance, and deep understanding of user intent.
Stakeholder Management Under Pressure: Working daily across multiple departments (engineering, marketing, recommendations) to manage expectations and balance priorities in a high‐scale, dynamic environment.
Customer Insights & Roadmap Planning: Translating the needs of internal clients and external users into technical requirements, and prioritizing the backlog to ensure continuous, 24/7 platform growth.
Cross‐functional Integration & KPIs: Defining success metrics for the search engine, tracking performance, driving continuous optimization, and securing smooth launches with technical leaders.
What's in it for you: Flexible working hours in the hybrid model (4/1) - working hours start between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. We also have 30 days of occasional remote work.
Long term discretionary incentive plan based on Allegro.eu shares (restricted stock units).
Annual bonus based on your annual performance and company results.
Well‐located offices (with e.g. fully equipped kitchens, bicycle parking, terraces full of greenery) and excellent work tools (e.g., raised desks, ergonomic chairs, interactive conference rooms).
A 16" or 14" MacBook Pro or corresponding Dell with Windows (if you don't like Macs) and all the necessary accessories.
