NETWORK & SECURITY ENGINEER – PALO ALTO & CISCO

Location: Hybrid – Milan, Italy (~3 monthly office visits - Cinisello Balsamo)

Salary: €45,000–€56,000 + 10% Discretionary Bonus + 25 Holiday Days/Year

Type: Full-Time | Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Network & Security Engineer to join the IT Infrastructure team, supporting enterprise network services across the organisation's European locations.

The role combines hands-on network administration, Cisco routing & switching, and network security, with a strong focus on Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide 2nd Line support for network infrastructure incidents, ensuring issues are resolved within SLA
  • Manage, configure and support enterprise LAN, WAN and SD-WAN environments
  • Configure and administer Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama
  • Design, deploy and support network appliances, routers, switches and load balancers
  • Support Cisco routing and switching infrastructure
  • Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, route maps, ACLs, route redistribution, path selection and traffic engineering
  • Support MPLS, VPN, Internet connectivity and network access
  • Support and maintain corporate WiFi infrastructure
  • Participate in Problem Management and infrastructure change management processes
  • Support network infrastructure projects and ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain technical documentation covering network designs, configurations and troubleshooting procedures
  • Identify network security risks and ensure appropriate security controls are in place
  • Identify opportunities to improve network processes, reliability and efficiency

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years' experience in Network Administration / Network Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls & Panorama – ESSENTIAL
  • Strong Cisco Routing & Switching experience across enterprise routers, switches and network appliances
  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN/SD-WAN design and architecture, with experience across BGP, OSPF, route maps, ACLs, route redistribution, path selection and traffic engineering
  • Experience with MPLS, VPNs, network connectivity, Internet access and enterprise WiFi/wireless environments
  • Highly Desirable: CCNA, CCNP or CompTIA Network+ or similar certifications
