Regional Environment, Health & Safety Senior Manager (RSPP)

On behalf of a leading multinational industrial group, we are exclusively seeking a Regional Environment, Health & Safety Manager (RSPP) to lead the Environment, Health & Safety function across manufacturing operations in Italy and an additional European country.

Reporting directly to the Regional Manufacturing Director and functionally to the Global Vice President EHS, this strategic leadership role is responsible for driving EHS excellence across a multi-country manufacturing network. The successful candidate will partner with senior business leaders to strengthen operational performance, foster a world-class safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance and support the company's long-term growth strategy. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the regional Environment, Health & Safety strategy across manufacturing operations in Italy and an additional European country, ensuring alignment with global objectives.
  • Act as the appointed RSPP in accordance with Italian legislation.
  • Lead and support local EHS teams, providing direction, coaching and functional leadership to ensure consistency in standards and execution across all sites.
  • Partner closely with Plant Managers and regional leadership teams to identify operational risks, establish priorities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable Italian, European and local health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a proactive and sustainable safety culture through behavioural safety programs, leadership engagement and capability development initiatives.
  • Drive the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the company's certified management systems, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Lead internal audits, compliance assessments, regulatory inspections and certification audits while ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Standardize EHS processes and share best practices across manufacturing locations to improve performance and operational consistency.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance and other business functions to integrate EHS principles into strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities, certification bodies and external stakeholders.
  • Support capital investment planning by identifying EHS priorities and contributing to the evaluation of industrial projects.
  • Monitor regional EHS performance through KPIs, dashboards and executive reporting, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Contribute to the organization's sustainability objectives by supporting environmental initiatives and continuous performance improvement.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a high-calibre EHS professional with proven experience operating in complex multinational manufacturing environments. The successful candidate combines strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and demonstrates the leadership required to influence diverse stakeholders across international organizations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, Prevention Techniques or another relevant technical or scientific discipline.
  • Qualification to act as RSPP under Italian legislation.
  • At least 8–10 years of progressive experience in senior EHS positions within multinational manufacturing organizations.
  • Proven experience managing Environment, Health & Safety activities across multiple manufacturing sites and different countries.
  • Strong knowledge of Italian and European health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Solid experience implementing, maintaining and improving ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Extensive experience conducting internal audits, managing regulatory inspections and ensuring compliance within complex industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading organizational change and developing a strong safety culture.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Professional fluency in English.
  • Availability to travel internationally for approximately 40–50% of working time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience within multinational organizations with mature EHS management systems.
  • Experience leading regional or international EHS organizations.
