Overview
As MEP Design Manager, you lead the technical management of MEP systems across complex civil and infrastructure projects. You coordinate with project management to align time, cost and quality, review technical documentation, and ensure seamless integration with civil, structural and architectural works. You actively engage with clients, suppliers and subcontractors to optimize designs and value. This role operates on international projects with on-site responsibilities and strong emphasis on engineering excellence.
Responsabilità
- Technical management of MEP phases including time, cost and quality control
- Coordinate with project management to share critical issues and solutions
- Document control and verification of technical documentation quality
- Review and approve plant designs and related certifications
- Ensure MEP integration with civil, structural and architectural works
- Prepare documentation for subcontracts or purchases of MEP components
- Participate in subcontractor selection for engineering and construction services
- Interface with clients, project managers, JV partners, suppliers and subcontractors
- Assess value engineering proposals and design change requests
- Develop shop drawings and construction documents considering system-civil interference
- Support testing, commissioning and start-up activities across T&C phases
- Monitor basic quantities evolution to ensure budget compliance
- Manage variation impacts and coordination with site and subcontractors
- Develop field change requests and resolve non-compliance issues
- Coordinate development of Method Statements, construction sequences, ITPs and related plans
- Provide construction support and field guidance for project execution
- Lead a capable team to handle diverse projects
Requisiti fondamentali
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering
- 10-15 years of relevant plant engineering experience on construction sites or in project management roles
- Advanced English (B2 minimum)
- Safety and project management certifications considered a plus
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, BMS/SCADA/ELV, and hydraulic systems
- Experience in complex infrastructure and civil projects
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with local and international plant regulations and BIM
- Experience with BIM and plant control systems (BMCS)
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time/cost constraints
