We are looking for a LASERCOMM SYSTEM ENGINEER to help shape the future of space optical communications. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and a strong team player. We seek a results-driven individual who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, particularly in the areas of mechanical engineering, electronics, and operations. WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DOSystem level activities related to the design and realization of Optical Ground Stations for Laser Communication and/or Satellite Laser Ranging, including: System definition and sizing Sub-system requirements downflow, definition and management Definition and management of interfaces. Establishment and maintenance of relevant performance budgets Analysis and simulation activities Definition of verification approach Contribution to integration and verification activities Contribution to experimental testing activities in the laboratory and/or field Preparation of documentation Identification and Coordination of subcontractors and supervision of their activities I/F with Customer YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree or Ph D in engineering or physics Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in optical systems for laser communication Hands-on experience in one or more of the following application areas:free space satellite optical communicationsatellite laser ranginglaser beam propagationlaser physics and photonics. Knowledge of MATLAB/Python/Octave Knowledge of Office Good English skills Results-oriented, reliable, proactive approach and with a good team working attitude THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVERelevant technical knowledge in one of these areas: Adaptive optics and wave front sensing technology Laser physics and photonics Optical detection Optical communication Pointing acquisition and tracking Knowledge of software tool for the design and simulation of optical communication systems Knowledge of Zemax Experience with requirement management SW (DOORS and similar)ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONContract: permanent Location: Sarcedo, Vicenza (Italy)Working time: full time, hybrid as per the internal policy Benefit: company Gym
