Within Leonardo's Aircraft Division, specifically in the Logistic Engineering & Technical Publications organizational unit, we are looking for a Technical Publications Editor for Operational Manuals for Trainers / Fighters Aircraft.
The resource will mainly deal with:
- Production and updating of Operational Technical Publications;
- Interface with company technical bodies (e.g., CTO, Flight Operations, etc.) responsible for the preparation/supply of source documentation for TechPubs;
- Coordination with all interested/supporting bodies (e.g., CTO, Flight Operations, etc.) for the management of the Technical Validation process according to company plans and the management of Customer / internal reports on Technical Publications;
- Management and production of documentation accompanying the distribution (both internal company and external to Customers) of Operational Technical Publications;
- Support in planning and monitoring activities according to planned timelines;
- Preparation of budgeting contributions to support new sales initiatives / configurational updates;
- Support in the production of technical specifications for managing outsourced activities and technical evaluation of tenders in collaboration with the technical publications manager;
- Participation in technical meetings with other Company Functions (ILS Management, Design Engineering, Airworthiness, Production Engineering, Operational Support, etc.);
- Interface and participation in technical meetings with Customers.
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Technical knowledge and skills:
- Knowledge of national and international regulations and standards (e.g., AER.P regulations, S1000D, Series S standard, MIL, ATA, etc.) concerning the production, management, and distribution of Technical Publications;
- Experience in drafting Technical Publications in the aeronautical sector;
- Significant experience in reading and interpreting technical documentation with a focus on performance diagrams, AWFL, limitations;
- Basic knowledge of editing software such as Quick Silver and Frame Maker and DM compilation tools (e.g., Arbortext Epic Editor, Altova XML Spy, etc.);
- Familiarity with civil and military aircraft operational publications and applicable national and international regulations (in particular AER-P-111 and/or MIL-M-7700);
- Ability to coordinate/integrate information from different sources (technical specifications, drawings, meetings with pilots and specialists);
- Recommended background in piloting / aerial navigation / air traffic regulation.
