We are looking for a Legal Counsel – Commercial & Digital to join our Legal & Compliance Department, playing a key role in providing legal support to the company's commercial and digital functions. The Legal Counsel will report to the Legal & Compliance Director of OBI Italy.

Key Responsibilities

As the Legal Department has a wide desk, the role requires you to deal with a broad range of legal matters and to interact with various stakeholders. The main focus will be on:

  • Providing legal support to the commercial teams on multiple business initiatives, including sales, supply of goods, marketing, digital, and e-commerce activities;
  • Delivering day-to-day legal advice and support the implementation of international business projects;
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of documents and agreements including by way of example SPAs, website T&Cs, prize contest regulation, sponsorship agreements, contracts with agencies and content creators,, other service agreements, NDAs, settlement agreements etc;
  • Providing strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders on Marketing, Communication and Creative initiatives working under tight deadlines;
  • Managing negotiations, customer complaints, and potential disputes involving customers and consumers;
  • Advising in general on matters relating to commercial law, consumer law, competition law, e-commerce and digital and IP rights;
  • Actively support omnichannel transformation and digitalization projects across the business;
  • Liaising with competent authorities as well as internal and external stakeholders when required;
  • Promoting a culture of compliance through training initiatives, guidelines, and monitoring activities.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Law obtained in Italy;
  • You are a qualified attorney ( passed the Italian Bar Exam) with 3-4 years post-qualification experience ideally spent within an international company of the retail sector or international law firm advising corporate clients of the retail sector
  • Strong knowledge of commercial law, competition law, marketing and consumer law, digital law;
  • Solid understanding of data protection and privacy regulations;
  • International mindset with excellent command of English, both written and spoken;
  • Availability for occasional national and international business travel (up to 10% of working time).

  • Compensation package: Gross Annual Salary (RAL) of €50,000, plus a performance bonus (MBO) of up to 10% of the annual gross salary. The employment level and compensation package outlined above refer to the profile currently being sought and may be reviewed should the position be aligned with a different level of experience.
  • Up to 12 days of remote working per month, in accordance with the company policy;
