Hyatt Thompson Rome is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Barman to join our Food & Beverage team.This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a passion for mixology and lifestyle service, able to deliver engaging guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of quality, professionalism, and consistency. The Barman works closely with the bar and outlet teams, contributing to the overall success of the hotel and guest satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesBar Operations & ServiceWelcome guests and provide a warm, engaging, and professional bar experiencePrepare and serve beverages according to established recipes, standards, and proceduresTake beverage orders and apply upselling techniques when appropriatePresent menus, answer guest inquiries, and make recommendations on beverages and pairingsClear and reset bar counters and service areas throughout operationsEnsure full readiness of the bar, including mise en place, cleanliness, and organizationBeverage Knowledge & QualityDemonstrate strong knowledge of classic cocktails, mixology techniques, and beverage trendsSupport the creation and development of cocktail menus and seasonal offeringsEnsure compliance with hygiene, safety, and food handling standardsBe fully conversant with the Micros system and support accurate order processingGuest ExperienceMaintain positive guest and colleague interactions at all timesDeliver attentive, personalized service aligned with Hyatt brand standardsSupport high-volume service periods, events, and special occasionsContribute to a vibrant, lifestyle-driven bar atmosphereCandidate ProfileMinimum of 1–2 years of experience as a Barman in a quality or luxury hospitality environmentSolid background in high-demand, fast-paced operationsStrong mixology skills and mastery of classic cocktailsGood knowledge of food hygiene and safety standardsExcellent personal presentation and communication skillsAbility to perform under pressure while maintaining composureFluent in English and Italian; knowledge of French is a strong plusDiploma in Hospitality or related field preferredWhat You Will DoReporting to the Bar Manager , you will support daily bar operations with passion and creativity, ensuring exceptional beverage service and memorable guest experiences across all outlets.Occupational Health & SafetyMaintain a safe working environment in compliance with local laws and hotel policiesFollow safety procedures, hazard awareness, and proper equipment usageReport incidents, near-misses, and hazards promptly
