Overview As Cloud Design Engineer you will be part of a global E2 E unit in Cloud Engineering organization that aims to achieve the cloud ready & cloud native strategy for Vodafone, as an enabler for the network as a platform, and thus drive cost efficiencies and innovation. You will be responsible for designing and supporting the delivery of the Telco Cloud virtualized infrastructure in Italy and cluster markets in accordance with the Vodafone Cloud Engineering strategy and goals to enable onboarding of the core network's tools with best-in-industry quality within the planned time. You will be accountable for the design to deployment of infrastructure virtualization for a Cloud-ready platform, mainly focused on VMWare NFV & SDN solutions and Red Hat Open Shift, considering capacity efficiency, security, resiliency and automation, aligned with the peculiarities of NFV workloads. You will also support the infrastructure build of Network Functions into an on‐premise cloud environment. The technology focus includes Iaa S, Caa S, Paa S infrastructure (v Cloud, v Center, hypervisor, computing, storage, networking – physical or virtual), remote access solutions, cloud security, and backup solutions. You will work with the VNF/CNF Onboarding team to automate end-to-end integrations. It is aligned with Vodafone strategy and focused on Virtual/Containerized Network Functions (V/CFN) and SDN needs. Location: ItalyResponsibilities Responsible for the solution design and lifecycle management of designed solutions within Cluster IT, GR, AL Vodafone Markets Coordinate suppliers, engage with peers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of functionality and quality in projects Design and deliver NVI on time and on budget according to the project's timeline Support process development and automation of VNF/CNF delivery Define, address, track and report on standard and guideline adherence Translate technical requirements into business languageKey Performance Indicators Design and deliver infrastructure within local market timescales Meet or exceed Capex targets Timeliness and quality in the solution design and deliveryCore Competencies, Knowledge And Experience Data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (Telco)Customer oriented and systematic way of working Strong communication and negotiation skills Ability to work across multi-functional and cultural boundaries to deliver results and change Strong analytical thinking and problem solving Good analytical and problem solving skillsMust Have Technical / Professional Qualifications Degree qualified At least 4 years professional experience in cloud and virtualization Expert in data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (IT and Telco) design and delivery Solid understanding of virtualization (VMware/Open Shift Cloud Platform) and containerization (Kubernetes)Solid understanding of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, IS-IS, OSPF)Experience with Kubernetes networking (CNIs, Service Mesh, Network Policies, Ingress/Egress)Experience with Network Load Balancers and Firewalls Experience in designing/implementing IPv6 solutions Scripting expertise is preferred (Power CLI, Power Shell, Python, etc.)#J-18808-Ljbffr
