Through patient ownership, operational autonomy, and disciplined capital allocation, Newport transforms subsidiaries into resilient, high-performing stand-alone companies.We are now looking for an enthusiastic M&A Intern to join our team in Verona actively supporting the execution of complex M&A transactions across a broad range of sectors, different countries, and deal types.Our BeliefYou will have the opportunity to work alongside experience professionals, gaining first hand exposure and insights on live transactions.We strongly believe that real growth only happens if you start from the basics. You'll earn responsibility by mastering the fundamentals, including the most boring tasks. If you do that well, responsibility will increase very quickly.What You Will DoYou will work as a full member of the M&A team and support all phases of the investment process, including:- Supporting sourcing and screening of potential acquisition and carve-out opportunities- Performing market, competitive, business, and company analyses- Assisting with financial analysis, valuations, and business plan reviews- Supporting due diligence activities across financial, commercial, and operational workstreams- Preparing investment materials (teasers, one-pagers, internal memos, Investment Committee materials)- Implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving our CRM, including data quality, pipeline tracking, and reporting- Supporting live transaction execution and interaction with external advisors- Contributing to industry, sector, and thematic researchWho We Are Looking For- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a STEM field- Master's student or recent Master's graduate in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Management, or Engineering with a strong finance focus- Mandatory: prior internship experience in Investment Banking, M&A advisory, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Audit, or Management Consulting- Mandatory: at least six months of academic or professional experience abroad (exchange program, internship, or work experience)- Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of financial statements and valuation fundamentals- Fluency in Italian and English; a third language is mandatory (e.g. French, German, Spanish, Dutch)- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills- High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment- Availability for a full-time, on-site internship in Verona for six monthsHow You Work- Curious and genuinely interested in businesses, investing, and how companies operate in practice- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable interacting with people from different backgrounds, seniority levels, and cultures- Able to read situations and adapt your style—knowing when to be formal, when to be informal, and how to make people feel comfortable- Confident and mature, with the ability to represent the firm appropriately in external interactions- Strong personality and self-discipline; comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks- At ease working alone in the office at times, as the team travels frequently- Precise, disciplined, and reliable in execution- Comfortable receiving direct, sometimes critical feedback- Willing to take ownership of tasks, including repetitive or less visible work, as part of the learning process- Team-oriented in mindset, while fully capable of working autonomouslyWhat We Offer- Real exposure to live M&A transactions and complex corporate carve-outs- Direct interaction with senior investment professionals- A steep learning curve in a small, demanding team- A fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment- A culture where strong performance is noticed and rewarded with increased responsibilityIf this sounds exciting, we would be glad to hear from you.Please apply via LinkedIn or contact us directly with your CV (PDF) and a short motivation note.
