This role focuses on the application layer supporting enterprise‐grade web hosting & critical services, ensuring high availability, security & performance across a large‐scale infrastructure. Field: national provider of cloud, hosting, domain registration, data center & trust services (including certified email/PEC)Key ResponsibilitiesOperate & maintain the ELK / Kafka‐based log ingestion & search stack, ensuring high availability, scaling & fine‐tuning (topics, partitions, shards, indices, ILM, retention)Proactively monitor capacity & performance; analyze monthly reports & trends to forecast growth & prevent incidentsEngineer & optimize Logstash pipelines, Grok patterns & parsing/transport paths; reprocess failed events & reduce parsing failure ratesImplement patch management, address end‐of‐life scenarios & apply security fixes according to guidelines provided by the Security functionMaintain observability dashboards & metrics (Grafana/Elastic) & improve alerting fidelityAdminister & optimize application servers & reverse proxy components, including Nginx, Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat & WildFly, ensuring scalability & resilienceConfigure & maintain reverse proxy & load balancing for high‐traffic hosting environmentsRequirementsSolid hands‐on experience administering ELK ecosystems at scale, including Kafka / Zookeeper, Logstash, Elasticsearch cluster sizing & tuning Strong Linux systems administration (Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL, Debian) in clustered HA environments; working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012–2019 as neededStrong expertise in Nginx (reverse proxy, SSL termination, caching) & Apache HTTP Server configurationHands‐on experience with Tomcat & WildFly & troubleshooting application‐level issuesKnowledge of load balancing, high availability clustering & performance tuning for web hosting platformsIaC: Ansible (roles, inventories, AWX) & Terraform for provisioning & drift controlCI/CD & versioning: GitLab Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Service Request) & ticketing via JIRAClear technical writing for run books & operational documentationLocation: completely full remote – Italy-basedFreelancers are highly welcomed tooCandidates of any gender identity, after reviewing the mandatory privacy notice available at www.hays-itservices.it, are kindly requested to submit their CV in PDF format, quoting the reference number (Ref. ---).
