SENIOR TECHNICAL PRODUCT OWNER – 12-MONTH CONTRACT – TOP TIER FINANCIAL CLIENT Location: RemoteContract: FreelanceDuration: 12 months + strong potential for extensionStart Date: End of January or Early FebruaryRate: Negotiable (dependent on experience)Language: Fluent Italian required, English professional working proficiencyClient: Large Enterprise Financial Services OrganisationRole DescriptionFor one of our top-tier financial services clients, we are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Product Owner to lead the evolution of complex digital products.This role requires a knowledge-driven Product Owner with a strong technical background, ideally certified (PSPO, POPM, or equivalent), and proven experience in financial institutions, banking, or insurance. The successful candidate is pragmatic, delivery-focused, and comfortable translating business needs into technically feasible solutions, with active engagement in architecture, integrations, and technical constraints—moving beyond a purely market-oriented approach.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn, define, and continuously refine the product backlog, ensuring prioritisation, clarity, and qualityTranslate business requirements into well-structured, technically sound user stories and acceptance criteriaCollaborate daily with development teams, architects, and QAActively participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Reviews, and RetrospectivesAssess technical impacts, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs when prioritising workSupport product and roadmap decisions using a data-driven approachEnsure alignment between product roadmap, technical constraints, and business objectivesEngage with internal and external stakeholders, including IT teams and technology vendorsOperate effectively within a complex, enterprise-scale, and regulated environmentRequired Skills & Experience3+ years' experience as a Product Owner or in a comparable product roleExperience working within financial services (banking, insurance, or similar regulated environments)Proven ability to perform under pressure, managing ambiguity, competing priorities, and complex delivery challengesStrong experience driving teams toward delivery deadlines, maintaining focus, alignment, and accountabilityExcellent stakeholder management skills, engaging effectively with senior business, technical, and operational stakeholdersExperience managing regulatory and compliance constraints within product developmentSolid technical understanding (systems, architectures, integrations, APIs, software lifecycle), enabling effective collaboration with engineering teamsExperience managing complex digital products (web, mobile, or enterprise platforms)Confident decision-maker, able to navigate difficult conversations and maintain team focus in high-pressure situationsStrong knowledge of Agile / Scrum frameworksProduct Owner certification (PSPO, POPM, or equivalent) preferredStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsNice to HaveBackground in software development, system integration, or IT consultingExperience working in enterprise or multi-vendor environmentsExperience acting as a Technical Product Owner Interested?
