Innovative engines architectures require a step forward in terms of thermal management capabilities. In this role, you will work on a military program in a multidisciplinary environment to ensure that thermal performance, reliability, safety and program requirements are fully achieved.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesContribute actively to studies and calculations devoted to get the best detailed thermal and fluid-dynamic secondary system design of new generation aeroengines. Targets, in terms of cycle efficiency, weight and cost, are continuously raising and need great efforts to assure required goalsCollecting and giving feedback to partners/customers is one of our main missions to improve the level of details of the "thermal & secondary flows" analytical assessmentAct proactively to study of the most promising thermal & cooling technologies to be introduced in the next generation military enginesWork within the team to define the Secondary Systems and Thermal Design validation process pathPrepare the request for the experimental validation and analyze experimental and fielded engines' data to improve design practices and rulesProactively support and coordinate activities with GEA global team to implement design corrective actions and product improvementsAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresQualifications/RequirementsMaster's Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited universityPrevious experience in development of aerospace or industrial productKnowledge of key aeronautical engines layout and architectureKnowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanicsFluency in English and Italian language, both written and oralExperience with FEM tools (i.e. Patran, Hypermesh, Ansys)Good knowledge of 1D fluid network solver (i.e. FlowSimulator)Good knowledge of Windows based toolsGood interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work successfully in global team environmentWork Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is requiredDesired CharacteristicsKnowledge and experience in CFD tools/numerical modellingBasic experience in CAD toolsCapability to work autonomouslyPassionate, curious and enthusiastic for engineering challengesWhat we offerSmart working and work life-balanceAvio Aero, when possible, promotes smart work in hybrid mode, and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
