Investment Banking overview:

Nomura's Investment Banking division provides an array of advisory and capital-raising solutions to corporations, financial institutions, governments and public-sector organizations around the world. Our global teams act as geographic, product and industry specialists, with a focus on domestic, regional and cross-border collaboration in M&A, acquisition finance, DCM and risk solutions businesses. Our global sector teams include Technology, Media, & Services, Financial Sponsors, Energy Infrastructure and Industrials, Consumer & Retail, FIG and Healthcare.

The Technology, Media & Services (“TMS”) group exists to capitalise on key Tech mega-trends – digitisation, outsourcing, regulatory-driven transformation – supporting the rapid shift towards technology-enabled and service-led businesses across industries and markets.

Nomura’s TMS group is focused on three key macro-verticals: (i) Software & IT Services, (ii) Fintech and (iii) Media, Entertainment & Education.

Programme overview:

Internships are a great opportunity to experience first-hand the possibilities of a career in banking. It is your chance to get a feel for our culture, create new networks and gain valuable on-the-job training. Internships are also the perfect preparation for a subsequent full-time role in London.

What’s your role?

Investment Banking TMS interns are placed into the Milan office for up to 6 month internships.

Nomura’s Milan based TMS coverage team provides comprehensive and innovative advisory, financing and risk solutions services to private equity firms and corporates. The team has a longstanding track-record of successfully executed M&A transactions both private and public including advising Bain Capital on the acquisition of Namirial and CVC on the sale of OANDA to FTMO.

As an intern in the team, you will:

• Support senior colleagues on the preparation of process documentation, valuation analysis and preparation of M&A pitches
• Receive first hand exposure to origination and execution projects with a rapidly increasing level of responsibility
• Work on cross-border projects alongside colleagues in London and other Nomura offices worldwide
• Develop strong presentation and analytical skills, through daily use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
